I did not misspeak. I meant what I said.
He has been one of the best, if not the best which means an argument can be made. Not that I believe he is absolutely the best since Yepes. That is clear.

I too see Cabal as more of a CB. The funny thing is Yerson and Cabal have been friends forever going back to the Nacional youth ranks. Would make a great pairing assuming they can both be healthy and in form in the future.

Mina and Davinson have been the go to pair for a long time, clear argument that they have been chosen and performed the best since Yepes, don't think that's controversial. I don't think there is any argument at all on really any metric other than he's been injured less that Davinson has been better, and idk how anyone could even make that argument Mina is the leader, better on the ball, better for goals, better in huge games, better in his club career etc. Davinson is a good guy and gives his all and is a soldier for us, he deserves credit but he hasn't progressed as he's gotten older and he's mediocre.

Well if you analyze the performances throughout the season, both Mina and Davinson is among the 3 best performers in their teams when it comes to ratings, despite the ocasional screwups.
Of course that doesn't mean much on the big stage of a WC, which is both a shorter tournament and world class opponents every game practically.

As long as he is healthy Mina all day. Scores goals and is very strong statistically - that penalty kick miss vs. Dibu did so much damage to his image in Colombia with casual fans. Such a shame.

Colombians place way too much emphasis on the humility stick.

We need people whom are confident and not afraid to say it too.

Mina gets a bad rap, especially on socials. When the guy is healthy and in form he's easily our best defender.

Been our most dependable CB this cycle against the best teams we have faced.

Big Champions league game at home to Juve and 30 minutes in 2 goals come directly from Davidson's zone, the 2nd he's badly at fault for getting out of position and beat for a give and go. He's just not good positionally and makes these errors too often, gives his all but can't do that when he's also bad on the ball.

Blah Cabal brought on at the half for Juve and gets 2 yellows in 15 minutes and is off, the second yellow was extremely harsh and not really deserved. Gala up after Davinson caused an own goal with going up for a header so not all bad for us in this game, maybe Yaser gets on and gets a goal.

From the video, looks like Davinson got away with a little push to the back. Since it counts, smart move to clear space, lol.

It was a wide open game that was pretty helter-skelter.
Davinson is the type of player to have a bad game every now and then but even in his bad games he finds a way to help the team win like today.

Team of the week with a "bad game".
    That is quite a feat.

am i one of those who doesnt really care if the defender scores or not as long as he is competent defending? Its like Mina, scores a lot of goals but makes horrible mistakes constantly..

In the modern game it is nice to have players that are dynamic on both sides of the field.
Similar to offensive players who have to track back and play defense.
I wish I could say that I do not care how our #10s play defensively as long as they do assists and score goals. But I know in today’s game they have to press and play D.

yea Davison seems like a better Luis Perea. Would make some stupid mistakes but is quick enough to fix them.

I want our CBs to be less worried about yellow cards and do hard fouls when needed. So I personally like Mina > Lucumi> Davison > Cuesta. Just sucks he has brittle bones

very good today but tough yellow card won't play at Liverpool

A rare Davinson compliment by anyone other than myself.
He seems to be scapegoated a lot in this forum.
