    Very sad news, it looks like Charlie Davies was involved in a car accident.

    "Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, the hospital informed the USSF that Davies would be in surgery, which started soon after 11 a.m., for another two and a half hours. Exact details of the type of surgery were unknown."

    Goal.com's report of 5 1/2 hours of surgery is pretty serious. The Washington Post says Davies was not the driver. Soccer's pales in comparison in the aftermath of the accident, my thoughts go out to the deceased girl's family and the health of all involved.

    Damn.... if they are saying career ending... i am thinking something to his legs, maybe bad fractures??? Who knows.... yikes



    With that said, its too said he wanted to party and give chocolate city a shot at their nightlife. Its fun, but damnit, he has to be careful! :(

    From ABC's WJLA channel 7 via NSC: Davies has a broken femur and tibia or fibula (not sure which as it appears they just combined the two into the word "tibula")

    Greg is reporting CD is in serious condition. Now I know a little about hosptial conditions but he was stable before. Does this mean he slipped from stable (good vital signs,etc) to serious?

    I checked the AMA website

    Any info or word from the French media? Not that they'd have word we haven't heard yet, just trying to gauge a reaction.

    Damn. Hope Davies recovers well, from the pic of the wreck it looks like it could have been a lot worse for him.

    I've been at Disneyland all day, and I have no time to read the entire thread - so I have no idea if anyone has said this yet:

    It's quite a reach, but if Carlos Pavon scores on that penalty kick I think this girl is still alive. Most likely Charlie is taking Wednesday's game a lot more seriously and is at home and in bed at 3am with the biggest game of his career days away.

    I would agree stogey, but at the same time hes young and celebrating helping the US mens team qualify for the 2010 world cup. its a crying shame really, im amazed anyone lived through that accident.
