He got knocked in the first few minutes and he rolled around for a bit but not as long as usual, guy looks like he's gonna die at least once a game and pops back up.
I now will have the mental image of Ospina in Gangs of New York wardrobe fighting to the death on every corner.
Never thought I would say this but Ospina did not have to do much today against Barca. Napoli had a pretty good game plan and kept them from getting good shots at him. The one defensive blunder led to a goal. Looked like a botched offside trap and Barca does not forgive when they are given opportunities on a silver platter. Nothing Ospina or any Keeper could have done to keep a clean sheet on that one.
Out of all the bad news about injuries and players not playing thankfully Ospina has won the starting spot for Napoli at just the right time to be game sharp for the qualifiers. *And I spoiled his clean sheet. But he could do nothing about the goal, overall safe game.
Like you said he won the starting spot so that's all that matters. If anything this could have been planned from the start of the season where they wanted their favored young GK to play for the first half while the second half was for Ospina...personally, I don't care so long as he does get to play even if he doesn't always get clean sheets.
It is kind of a weird twist that we are least worried about guys like Ospina and Mina heading into important matches. They are getting playing time and are in good form. (Never would have thought that months ago.) Looking more on the bright side our whole spine is looking good Ospina-Mina-Davinson-Barrios-Uribe-Cuadrado. It is just the fullbacks, wings and target men that Queiroz has to figure out... ... with only a few weeks left.
Everton paid a crap ton for Mina and he kept getting hurt.... that’s what kept him from starting Ospina they paid 35 million for the next Buffon. Gattuso wants to win now not when Meret becomes the next Buffon. Also rumors of Gattuso wanting Ospina out without giving him a shot was worrisome. our attacking options being so poor is kind of a shock coming into March when that seemed like our most redeeming area last year
Guys something odd is happening to me; me watching this match...is....making me....HARD And Inter up thanks to an own goal. Not Ospina's fault as claimed by the announcer.
No it was stated as an own goal or at least his defender glazed it with his head thus resulting in the goal. He did a good job overall today with more saves especially in the second half.
For those of us in the USA... ...the Copa Italia Final on Wednesday will be on ESPN in English and ESPN Deportes in Spanish. Ospina vs. Cuadrado
