It would be funny to see him leave some of those fatasses in the dust in training.

No, it would be funny to see some of those fatasses lay a couple of crunching hits on James.

Trust me, the linebackers, safties and corners aren't fat. Neither are the running backs and wide recievers nor are most quarterbacks and defnesive ends.

Yeah, there's no lack of lard amongst the offenive linemen and defensive tackles, but the rest don't have very much body fat.

    Mass? Yes. Fat? No.

Maybe the entire offensive line and a few of the D-line, but other than that, he'll be behind all the receivers, linebackers, runningbacks and db's. Sure, he's more athletic than Tony Meola, but I don't see him doing that much better in the kicking department. And he definitely wouldn't make much of a receiver.

Thanks for backing up my original statement. Jeez you guys are defensive.

I was thinking that about the bone-crunching tackles too.

I read this and was going to post this here but someone beat me to it. I am a huge Dolfan and James is probably a better punter than the one we have now. However, I don't understand what the point of this is. Maybe the Dolphins are just trying to make some publicity overseas or something, but this just sounds like a waste of time to me.

At least he could have trained with a real team like the Packers.

Er, I would think that this is at LEAST half-vacation for him, eh? Let's see, vacation in Miami, or vacation in Green Bay? Hmmmmm...

I have visions of David James flailing wildly at passes.

theres no way he can kick an american football the length of the feild. hey that'd be cool for him to go through the motions and see what its all about.

he might actually have the best chance at wide reciever. as we saw with New Jersey Jet Tony Meola, its far different kickin a soccer ball than a football, where as James appears to be pretty athletic, and obviously has pretty good hand eye coordination to play keeper at that level. He might make a good possesion reciever, tight end type if he could take a hit. no way at quarterback, maybe at linebacker cause he seems like he would have the size but that's way too advanced and if you've never played the game theres no way you're going to know hot to tackle properly.

Green Bay's outstanding this time of year. If James' is a fisherman, it's one of the best areas on earth to be at in July.

Now if we were talking January or February it would be a whole 'nother situation altogether.

He's already cheated on his wife and left her, so now he can cheat on the mistress with a cheerleader then leave her.

Well, I'm a Dolphin fanatic and I have no clue what he will be able to do with
them on the 24th, other than perhaps lift some weights informally.

Maybe he's getting a private publicity stunt workout, but their last allowable
offseason team training (quarterback school/minicamp) ends tomorrow.

They then start up preseason training at the end of July .

    Maybe they are
taking him drinking in South Beach?:)

Then again I wouldn't mind if they upgraded their punter.............

God....that reminds me of the US-Argie game at the Orange Bowl back in February. There are about six hours of the night before that I honestly cannot account for. It seems we kept stopping in Wet Willies on Ocean Drive for these "Call a Cab" drinks and moving on (Miami Beach lets you carry your drinks around, the sign of a truly civilized city.) Then attending the game next day in the blazing sun with thousands of screaming Argentines with the worst headache and cottonmouth in the history of mankind....

    Good times.....good times.

I guess he is a Dolphins fan:

“I am delighted to have been invited - it’s a great opportunity to learn about more about the sport, and put myself up against some of the best athletes in the world, James said. “I was a fan in the 1980s and 90s and I can’t wait to see players like Ricky Williams going through their paces, and seeing how I stack up against him."

I'm interested to see how he does. And even the linemen, who look fat to us, are in pretty good shape. They have a pretty good amount of muscle, when you consider their job is to knock down another 300 lb guy in front of them.

David James looks huge when I see him on TV during games, but they showed him standing next to a wide receiver on Sky Sports and he looked like a skinny little kid.

Damn that Alex Wilkins...I hate him.
