Young american defender David Henning, with some USNT youth team experience according to my information, will go on a week long trial for swedish div 1 side Östers IF. Anybody know him? Öster's last north american transfer, canadian midfielder and U20 captain Atiba Hutchinson, had huge success this season and will go on to bigger things, probably one of the top swedish teams but he has attracted attention from Man City and PSG. Henning good enough to fill his shoes (regardless they don't play the same position)?
David was one of the few players to sign professionally with a U.S. minor league team without four years of college soccer when he joined the Milwaukee Rampage in the A-League a few years back at 16. It's a solid club. This year he joined Des Moines Menace in the PDL, an amateur league that allows unpaid pro players. This is sometimes considered the fourth division but I'd argue that. Nevertheless, Des Moines is one of the better teams and organizations in that league so I wouldn't call it a massive step backward -- especially given his age: He was only 18 when the season began. He has some U-18 experience for the US as I understand it, but that's traditionally been something of a no-man's land for players (unless they end up making the U-20 team, which he obviously didn't). However, he's clearly an ambitious lad. Never seen him play -- I would ask for more info in the USL forum.
