Hey all. David Hayes is reportedly training with the Metros. Didn't he used to play with DC before heading to the A-League? What kind of player was he? Thanks.

Too slow, medium-level skill. Not an MLS-caliber player.

David Hayes is the best striker ever. He's a better player than Pele, better than Maradona, better than Adu. Better than all of them combined.

    Sincerely,

    Cruyff14

That's what I would have said about Wolyniec not about Hayes.

So he'd be a good fit for the Metros.... :)

    There's only one David Hayes!
    Only one David Hayes...

Yes, Mr. Hayes would be a great fit for the Metroscum. According to reports (from Cruyff14), David Hayes' departure was the main reason DC United went into a nose dive. The coaches never gave him a shot so he was never able to prove he was better than everyone else.

    :)

I just read last week he was cut from his A-League team. He showed promise, I can't remember exactly why he didn't cut it. The girls sure liked him.
He was almost as good as Mike Burke.

ACTUALLY, the Rhinos didn't resign him b/c he wanted to go on trial with the Metrostars

Because he's one of the most unlikeable people on the planet. There's a reason he only lasts a season or less with each of his teams. I think he's been on 6 or 7 in as many seasons. He showed good potential at one point, but his attitude always got the best of him. I don't see Bob Bradley wanting any of that on his roster...

A very non-remarkable player on the field but the girls really screamed for him.

Did not add value to the DC team at that time.

    WHOA THERE TUBBY!

I mean it's a given that Hayes is and was the best striker ever, but Burke was/is 100000000000 times better!

    Too slow?

There are many words that can be used to describe David Hayes.

Slow shouldn't be one of them.

He's a fast, left footed player that has played outside left mid and striker at times in the A-League.

I wasn't overly impressed with his skill level last year in Rochester. But, that may have been affected by Pat Ercoli's system as well.
