notice the picture here http://www.art.com/asp/sp.asp?PD=10074186&RFID=217788 yep, he's wearing a metrostars jersey... #1 Stunna
File under: no publicity is bad publicity But damn! The Dave Mathews band?!? Does that mean I have to wear a knit golf shirt when I go to my first Metros game?
The guy in the Metrostars jersey is Carter Beauford, the drummer. Amazing drummer too I might add. The guy in the Transformers shirt is Stefan Lessard, the bass guitarist.
In case anyone cares, the 2002 calendar had a backstage photo of Carter relaxing in his metro jersey. He's a huge soccer fan, from what I read. They also sell a DMB(dave matthews band, not d. Beasley) soccer jersey. On another note, i was at that concert and had floor seats on the 13th. Freaking great.
They put an ad with this picture in the NY Times thanking their fans for coming out. It covered a whole page and the Metros logo was clear and center. Haven't seen better free publicity for a domestic side.
This was posted on these boards quite a while back (2 years ago?), when it was an insert in one of their CDs or something. No harm in this reminder, or it being brought to people's attention who weren't on the boards back then.
It's great I love DMB but why would metrostars be blurred? Would MLS have the audacity to ask for a licence fee?
I have doubts as to weather that really is a Metro jersey. Look above the "MetroStars" name, to the right (his left) there seems to be a badge that is not a Metros badge. See it?
KareemSoda, that would be the old skyscrapers crest, phased out before the new tradition began. Whatever happened to that taxi?
