I'll bet your favorite band sounds worse in concert than in the studio. I'll bet your favorite band plays its songs nearly the same in concert as they do on their albums. I'll bet your favorite band has the same cookie cutter solos from night to night, if they even have solos. I'll bet your favorite band has minimal improvisational skills that flow throughout its concerts. I'll bet your favorite band plays almost the same setlist from night to night, probably even plays the exact same setlist from night to night. I'll bet your favorite bands repeated songs from night to night on tour are identical.

Dave Matthews Band rules. the guy who says they suck probably listens to some crap like NSYNC or maybe one of those new punk boy bands like Linkin Park.

DMB is as divisive as the Iraq war. IMO, Dave Matthews is remarkable if only for his abject medicocrity. His interminably pointless jams obviously induce impotence, as evidenced by his pathologicaly milquetoast fans. Even ripping on the guy makes me sleepy..........

You apparantly have not listened to his music. Applying the standard anti-jam band opinion to DMB doesn't work. Dave Matthews Band is not really a jam band. They have some jam tendancies but only a few songs... Seek Up, Two Step, Lie in Our Graves, Jimi Thing, sometimes Bartender, sometimes Watchtower, and #41(when their are guests). Even these jams are within the context of the song so not even what you describe above. Their other songs feature tight solos and some improvosational moments but not jam sessions as you describe, as is associated with jam bands. Phish and Widespread Panic are jam bands. If it's not your thing, it's not your thing. However, DMB does not fit into their catagory.

Pfft, LOL! This is Bigsoccer, where everything goes to whack! That said, let's hope Dave Matthews band doesn't tear up our pitch like NSYNC did to Crew Stadium.

The Dave Matthews Band backlash is really amazing. Did people way over-hype their work two years ago? Absolutely. Are they still better than 90% of the stuff around today. Yep.

The Dave Matthews Band is one of the best bands around today. I don't know what you are talking about. Unlike so many of the other "acts" today, DMB is actually made up of 5 musicians, who play music! And great music it is too. I am glad Dave Matthews Band are playing at the Home Depot Center. This will be a fantastic venue, for fantastic bands.
