Gun-dawg is an excellent player when employed correctly.

He is not a double pivot type - much more suits single pivot systems

At his peak at BVB he was more an 8.5 type player who was very good at final 3rd entries. Germany have tended not to need that as they have had the likes of Ozil and Mueller at the top of midfield and played various double pivot systems

I think he would have worked best in the version of germany when Schweinsteiger emerged as a true 6 and gundo could have been an alternate to Sami K for example.

Maybe he could do well in the current team with Kimmich and Goretzka

I think as long as Löw is coach Gündogan unfortunately will only be the sub for Kroos.

Agreed - because then you need Kimmich to act as the defensive guy in a midfield double pivot.

I'd prefer to see Kimmich at 6 and then play with two 8s

Gundogan is not a god. I like him, but let's be honest, just because he struggle during 6-0 Spanish debacle, not fair to put all the blame with him. Spain was better as a team as a whole. Even Messi and CR7 could look like 2 bundesliga players when the whole team was being setup wrongly.

Only because of Löw he is still being called up instead of getting Effenberged for high treason

    lol...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Bierhoff was a bit more reserved at Müller
He rated the EM chances for Müller more cautiously. This had been sorted out in the course of the reorganization of the DFB team as well as Jérôme Boateng and Mats Hummels von Löw.

"Ultimately, it will be a decision in which you look at the entire squad towards the EM," said Bierhoff. "I can only guarantee one thing: that it is not stubbornness or that Jogi does not want to take a step back, but that in the end he will decide that the strongest squad for him is put together."

Andi Brehme thinks the remaining Bauern players at the NT are playing against Löw. He thinks that Löw telling the trio of Hummels, Boateng and Müller 2 days ahead of Bayern-Liverpool (which Bayern then lost) is something that you just dont do. A no-go. The remaining Bauern players (with the exception of Neuer maybe) are playing with 50% 1stly trying to take revenge for their teammates and 2ndly trying to oust Löw.

Coach Bosz: Could understand if Löw comes because of Wirtz
Peter Bosz expects that national coach Joachim Löw will also watch the 17-year-old Florian Wirtz when he visits Bayer Leverkusen's game against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky). “I think he's coming for several players. But I could understand if he comes because of Florian Wirtz, ”said the Leverkusen football coach (57) on Friday. An early national team or even EM nomination of the high school graduate would be quite understandable for his club coach. «I'm not a national coach. It's not up to me to judge whether it's enough for the national team, "said the Dutchman:" But I've been working with this boy for about a year. He does it very well. He performs consistently and has qualities. That's why I could understand it. " Wirtz only played in the German U21 for the first time in October 2020 as the youngest debutant.

Thanks but the only hinein we need is when Schmidt's 9th Panzer Division drives into Rotterdam

  17. As a historian you know ze Jermans had to bomb Rotterdam as they couldnot cross the river. The battle for the Maasbruggen was an unexpected, unpleasant surprise from our Marines for the Wehrmacht.

Yes Gundogan’s playing brilliant. As long as it’s higher up the pitch and not in the midfield/6 together with Kroos

Flick is spot on, it's up to Loew to utilise his recourses well. His selection should be based on form rather than the mantra of favouritism.
