Dike made his pro debut July, 2020 at MLS is back.

He never has an off-season or any real time off after that until he got injured.

He went to Barnsley for his first MLS off-season and then after Barnsley it was back to Orlando and the USMNT. The after then, it was West Brom.

    then the injuries.

(I know he missed a little bit with the shoulder injury with the usmnt at the GC, but hes never rested coming out of the college game)

I don't think there's any changing Dike's body type. The man is massive and probably always has been. It's just how he is.

Dike didn’t push hard enough, apparently.

I was a little disappointed upthread to see @Sup Bro pushing yoga, when the answer pretty obviously is Pilates.

Where have you heard tendon injury? I don't think I've seen anything more specific than "thigh injury" here.

quintessential bullshit euro injury update to be honest -- true or false. you would think given all the gambling they'd go to an NFL style injury update system given they play at most twice a week in league play.

November too, and in that period he scored 8 goals in 12 league starts.

The US has called up 6-8 different center forwards (depending on how you classify Sargent and Hoppe positionally) since Dike was last called.

I'm not saying it would have been impossible, but the man was in white-hot form last fall and was soundly ignored.

Still waiting to hear the severity of Dike's injury. Surely the coaching staff knows by now.

I only play a doctor on television but what's the worst thigh injury one could have? Fingers crossed for a pull or strain.

It could be several weeks to several months. Let's say it heals in 3 weeks. He'd need a couple of more weeks to get back to fitness. From comments made by manager Steve Bruce, I get the feeling that his World Cup dreams are over. However, we won't really know until they give us concrete details.

I really enjoy reading quotes from Steve Bruce about Dike. Every comment he makes seems very genuinely caring, warm and personal.

Don't know why this reminded me of Job from Arrested Development but, "How much could a thigh cost? $15? Come on!"

You wonder what stretching routine he does. Yoga? Or does he have Michael Owen's genetics?

Brutal. Slim chances of repping the US in the WC have all but disappeared.

Others slide in by default now no matter how crummy some might be.

It does make you wonder if he carries too much weight for his body to manage in a sport where so much stress is placed on joints, ligaments, and muscles. Sort of akin to Zion Williamson problems.

Some guys are just unlucky. There are bigger and more muscular guys than even Dike who don't have such recurring issues. Their as re skinnier less muscular guys who do. Certainly nutrition and routine play a role but so too does genetics and dumb luck
