    His contract expires in June.

    Decisions have to be made

I hope Daryl resigns with WBA (if they don't get a points deduction and relegation).

WBA have paid him a lot of money to not play much football. I think Daryl coming back on more of a prove it deal makes sense.

Presumably wherever he goes it will be on a prove it deal. Might as well be WBA imo.

    Makes sense...

But I also think for players who have taken such a beating with injuries and are still youngish (in this case 25), you need to accept the deal that offers you the most. Simple as that. He might not have a long career and he saw his brother's career ended way too soon with the same problem.

Dike played 74' and scored the second goal in a 3-0 victory.

    Two matches remain:

Sat 4/25 v Ipswich Town (fighting for second place/auto-promotion)

Sat 5/2 @ Sheffield Wednesday (already relegated)

Despicable ball in. Dike didn't have to do much. Great to see him getting a rhythm again

What? He had to duck way down to head that ball in. That ball in must've had some really serious dip.

Dike starts! West Brom (T-20th, but safe) hosting Ipswich Town (3rd, still challenging for automatic promotion).

Dike played 71' of a scoreless draw, which hurt Ipswich Town more than it helped West Brom. Dike received a yellow card along the way.

I'd say it's helped West Brom plenty because points deduction or not, this point leaves Oxford 4 points adrift in the final position with one game to play.

That's good news for Daryl and George Campbell. A squad capable of getting out of the Championship is very different to what's required to escape League One. They'd have wanted to keep Campbell in either case, but their interest in Daryl may pick up.

@bshredder would have more, though whether he can share it another matter.

He had 2 good chances to score but tried to five hole the keeper and then keeper got a hand on another one he tried to curl in to top right hand corner. Finishing boots just not on today but definitely looks like belongs needless to say. Got a nice ovation when came off as possibly his last home appearance

Dike got a 6.0 from fotmob. Lowest among all starters on the field (both teams).

That's football for you.. any other day he probably would of had the brace both chances were high %. My biggest takeaway is he's starting to look like his old self again maybe with a little less explosiveness but now that he's been healthy for a stretch of time this upcoming summer could be the biggest point of his career if he can get back to where he was before all this injury circus started.

From a different perspective, the next team to sign him might be getting a steal. If Dike stays healthy, he could/should have several productive seasons ahead of him.

Games played clause and per appearance bonus would probably be ideal for both sides. When he's healthy he's a useful player, but at this point that's far from certain. Wishing him the best wherever he heads.

The guy is impossible not to like but clubs are going to be very cautious about how much and how long they're going to offer. I do think Championship-level sides will make offers but if it's for more than 2 years, I'd imagine there'd be a substantial appearances-based element to the salary and it's very unlikely to be as much as he's on at the moment.

He may be forced to take a year with another year club option to stay at this level. I bet MLS would offer him a two year contract though. He's definitely in a precarious position

Dike came off the bench at HT, with West Brom trailing Sheffield Wednesday(!) 2-0. The final score was 2-1, so Dike was +1 for his half of play. West Brom finish 21st (of 24) and avoid relegation.

Where will Dike find himself next year? Wherever that is, I'll be rooting for his health and success!

“Long-serving duo Jed Wallace and Daryl Dike, alongside goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith, will all leave The Hawthorns this summer.

Forward Dike arrived in January 2022 and struck 11 goals from 68 appearances across all competitions.

Daryl remained a popular figure around the club and with its supporters owing to his positive attitude in the face of adversity - finishing last season by memorably scoring against Preston North End and Watford.”

    Thought he may return.

But maybe they are done with the headache.

Can’t say I blame WBA if that is the case.
