The kid is absolutely bossing the game against Colorado right now. He's obviously not as good as those two, but he's a top 5 player in the league right now at 23 years old. He's gonna be scary good.

I think he's going to be in Russia in 4.5 years.

Why in Russia? To have bananas thrown at him?

Then he should go to PL. What he probably will do.

I don't believe they are hosting the next World Cup in PL.

Now that he's married to an American, would it still slow down his citizenship progress if he were to go abroad?

Yes, he still has a residency requirement until he earns citizenship. He needs to stay here at least 6 months out of each year (2) until he earns citizenship. Which is fine, because 25 is still early enough to move to a big league.

You're still not understanding that anyone who isn't in Russia in June of 2018 cannot play in the World Cup.

He has 3 years from the time he got married (he already held a Green Card at the time of the wedding). That was in Dec. 2012. He needs to be *physically present* in the US for at least 18 months during that time. Once he hits that, he can be overseas the whole time. If he leaves before he hits the 18 months, he'll need to make sure he comes back into the US enough to get the 18 months total.

Or, his wife can take a job with the US government overseas or an American employer engaged in foreign commerce overseas and get almost immediate citizenship (the David Regis loophole).

Technology is moving fast. i don't think it's out of the question that by 2018 we could have advanced virtual reality technology that would enable players to play World Cup matches from within cybertronic pods in their sky mansions.

We need to get a countdown to his citizenship going. Nagbe is bossing this Timbers-Sounders match. He's made Ozzie Alonso look absolutely average. IIRC, the first camp he'll be eligible for is the January Camp in 2016.

I think this is more likely than whatever air conditioned stadium technology Qatar promised.

this is my first time watching Nagbe....he's outshining everyone in the central midfield vs. Seattle

Yeah, first time for me too. He is a spark plug, dude can play. He looks to be a winger or a ACM type of a player.

He had moments and I'm a big fan of Nagbe, but outshining Sea's mids means little. They looked like crap today. Sea largely looks like crap. It was quite a poor game from a quality standpoint. But I'd agree Nagbe was the most impressive.

Unless the government is still shut down, he'll get citizenship in 2015. Exact date unsure.

I agree with you about Seattle being crap today, but what impressed me was not that he was outplaying Seattle's midfielders, it was that he was toying with the entire Seattle midfield, quite often all at once.
Eh, I'd call it a would be Yank against a future Yank.

So if he leaves soon then he would need him to go to somewhere with an American owner willing to give his wife a job also. Knew there had to be some advantage to all the billionaires buying up clubs :).
