    About four years as a mod that ended, voluntarily on my part. I agree that that was a tricky time. I let the Osama chants get to me. I'll try to do better when fans of other countries refer to the episode of this week.

    I finally realized that the best way to avoid conflict on Big Soccer is to stay away from these following forums.

    1. World Rivalries - dumb people post here
    2. MLS General - here people think shot clocks and shoot outs are a good thing.
    3. USA Fans - who's hotter LD or Deuce?
    4. Yanks Abroad - 99 reasons why it's other players fault my favorite Yank sucks or I hated DMB until yesterday but now that he scored he's the best winger in England.

    All the above forums share some of the same characteristics poor moderation, overbearing regulars, zero football analysis, a high noise ratio (lots useless of threads started which goes hand in hand with poor moderation), and the TOS/Community Guidelines are selectively enforced.

    I've stopped posting and reading all of the forums listed above except #4 until today. The reason for reading an internet forum in the first place is because your looking for information and you like the community. I can say the former is damn near impossible and the latter is simply just not true anymore. Yanks Abroad has turned into a Big Soccer version of FOXNews "fair and balanced" only if you believe in the party line. I prefer to base my opinions on facts, not conjecture from the Big Soccer Intelligentsia. I prefer analysis not playground name calling and internet bullying. I want news not speculation on how big Justin Mapp's transfer fee will be in 2009.

    So in looking at all the facts the only reasonable conclusion to this matter is that I ignore YA like I ignore Iranian Monitor, World Rivalries, The Mexican boards and other places where critical analysis and reason are unwelcome.

    Jaypro - Kudos for realizing what we are about and realizing that it's not for you. We don't claim to be everything to everyone. Some people seem to thrive there and others don't - sounds like you made a healthy realization that it's not for you. Just think - just recently you were mad at me for depriving you of this forum and today you would probably be thanking me! Isn't that sort of funny now in retrospect? If you need any help sticking to your decision - I know how it can be hard to stick to these kinds of things - just let me know! :)

    I'll still monitor the Charlie Davis thread because of the news and analysis coming from the overseas posters but other than that it's(YA) just not worth the bother. I was angry because of the poor moderation and the ridiculous thread ban for using the term fanboy. It wasn't the lack of access to thread that upset me, but the principle of the situation. Your very words in this thread have proven me to be in the right so as far as I'm concerned the matter is closed. I'm sure SuperDave will be by momentarly to defend your owner and violate the TOS yet again with your tacit approval.

    FWIW, I hardly ever post in the YA forums, and I dont even read there much anymore because of things like this thread. This is sort of the same thing that goes on there, only bigger.
