Hello I am new to these boards and someone at MLS suggested that I go on to hopefully get an answer to a question that I had. Back in August, there was a Chamber of Commerce Night in the club area for chamber of commerce members from all over new england. I had spoken to one of the staff over the phone, his name was Darius, I don't remember his last name. Anyway, on the night of the game I was running late and rushed to the game by myself. I am a handicapped person and cannot walk very far on my own without the assistance of a cane and someone else. I was stuck parking far away from the entrance to the club and started walking which was very hard. Darius, who didn't know me except for my phone call must have seen me struggling and picked me up in his own car and drove me to the entrance. While waiting to get in, and it was hot, I realized that I left my credit card at work. I tried to tell the ticket and security people at the entrance to the club what my situation was but they were so busy that they didn't want to hear it. They said I would have to buy a ticket or go home, nobody was helping me out or seemed to care at that point. Darius came in from the parking lot and vouched for me(?)! Now he didn't know me from Adam but he said he would pay for the ticket even if I never got back to him. He was really nice and very professional, he even helped me to my seat and helped explain the game to me ( This was my first soccer game). A month later I sent a thank you letter along with my check to Foxboro addressed to Darius with no response. I then called and was told that Darius was no longer working for the Revolution because of "changes" made within the organization. When I asked what "changes" meant the person on the phone would not elaborate. Does anyone know what happened? Was he fired or laid off? I would be interested to know so I could thank him for his professionalism regarding my situation that night. Seems like he would be an ideal representative for the Revolution, I know my experience at Foxboro was salvaged because of him.
The short answer is that much of the Revolution staff were let go - including Darius - and their responsibilities assumed by Patriots staff and the remaining Revs staff in an effort by the Krafts to combine/streamline/reduce their overhead. I am not surprised by your experience - with Darius or the rest of the operation.
Thank you Thank You for your quick response. I am very sorry to hear that about Darius. I am a huge sports fan and rarely attend the games live. I don't think I would ever set foot in foxboro again after the experience that I might have had except for Darius.
