Looking forward to preaseason: https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/f...-starting-slot-after-aberdeen-summer-rebuild/ January signing Polvara welcomes competition and is up for the battle to secure a regular starting slot next term. He will jet back to his home city of New York for the summer, but there will be no let-up for the American. Aberdeen beat off competition from Premiership rivals Hibs to land the midfielder. A host of MLS clubs, as well outfits in Italy and Germany, were also interested in signing Polvara.

He went 90. Nothing major either bad or good, a few good passes and a pretty strong left footed shot that the keeper had some difficulty with. Looks physically capable, he’s every bit of 6’3” and well filled out too. Covers ground well.

Polvara said: “The goal is to just become someone that’s considered for every single squad, if not starting a lot of games.

I watched the game. It went badly. He had trouble getting involved on the offensive end and even when he did, he was a step behind the pace. Defensively he was out of his league and got worked by Jota on the second goal. Toughest opposition he’s faced ever so he’s going to need to shake it off.

Profile: https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/u...rk-city-fc-transfer-georgetown-soccer-call-up Turning down his final season of collegiate eligibility, Polvara received interest “from a ton of MLS general managers” but opted to pursue opportunities abroad due to his Italian passport. NYCFC was reportedly uninterested in keeping him, having already “made a decision on him at 16,” according to his college manager. He moved to Scotland, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with four-time champions Aberdeen, spurning interest from other European options including Hibernian, as well as “Italian and German sides.” The “fantastic emerging talent” was swayed by the culture and occasional USMNT call-up Christian Ramirez, who sold him on the club’s history of development.
"Opted to pursue opportunities abroad due to his Italian passport." He ended up in Scotland. A doesn't lead to B there.
