Couldn't find this elsewhere. I'm sure you've heard yesterday's news about the sentencing of the judge convicted of fixing tickets for local (San Jose) celebrities. Most reports named a Sharks goalie but just said "San Jose Earthquakes players." There is a wire report that I don't think anyone went with naming one Earthquakes player. Now, I have access to it at work, but I am probably not allowed to post it in its entirety, so I will give you the name. This wire says the player is (and I add that it is reportedly, allgedly, may not be true, etc.): Dwayne De Rosario. Just thought you'd be interested. I don't think the whole thing is a big deal, but you had to be wondering which Earthquakes player is being called a "local celebrity."
I think there was a thread about that when it first happened. Somebody posted a link the the article in the Merc and it had 2 names in it. Member? Dwaynes wife got pulled over for speeding in their van, and kit-man Malcolm Phillips' fiancee got pulled over for using the carpool lane when she was by herself....
Okay. Sorry for the repeat, then. I did plow through a bunch of threads on it this morning but couldn't find the name. All yesterday I was wondering which player it was, or if the public was even told.
I'm not sure I've ever heard Malcolm Phillips mentioned in connection with this, but the investigation did include DeRosario and trainer Bruce Morgan. Here's an earlier thread that discusses this some. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82232
