If Daniel's ability equaled his self perception, he'd make Ronaldo look like an average player.

He's not a bad player, but with that ego you'd think he was a superstar.....

According to Mike Marshall of revsnet.com (as posted on ussocceruk.com), he's been suspended and won't accompany the team to Dallas.

In Soccer America's "MLS Confidential", Ridge Mahoney reports Hernandez might be dumped to create salary cap space to sign an Uruguayan midfielder named Jose Carlos Cancela. Danny's shouting match at halftime with coach Nicol might be the icing on the cake.

    This brings an interesting question:

Would Bradley give him a chance and bring him back to the Metros? Would he fit into his scheme? Is there enough room in the salary cap to even consider this?

Admittedly, I'm playing devil's advocate ;), but you have to admit that the few free-kicks the Metros have taken were not exactly a work of art. Might be nice to have someone again who can stike some fear in opposing goalkeepers.

Also, If Mathis moves upfront (as it appears) this opens up another midfield slot (yes, I'm aware of the Argentinians coming). In addition, it's nice to know you have a veteran who can replace Pope when he's on USMNT duty or anyone else on the backline due to injury.

OH DEAR GOD NO. And I realize this is based on your speculation, but I am already a card-carying member of the Guevara Fan Club, and I will gladly allow him to take any free kick that comes his way on behalf of Metros....Hernandez can go wherever...

I think Ricardo Clark and The Midget are better options at DM at this point. As far as FK's go, I'll stick with Guevara and Mathis.

Could Danny Boy play Right Back(ego problem?) for the Metro stars??? If so maybe trade them Mark Lisis or Chris Leitch. As long as Bob can control Danny Boy's ego it might work for both clubs. Yes, probable salary cut involved here needed by Danny Boy too.

Two words: Salary Cap. You want Danny? Then you're going to have to dump Richie or Jolley. Simple as that.

Assuming we even want him (doubtful) why trade if he is going to be released? Just wait and get him. Or, even better, let him go try out for some football team.

I hear the Jets need a kicker... Being an NFL kicker with an attitude will straighten Danny up REAL quick. :)

Hernandez wouldn't be too bad of a pick up, that is, he plays like he did in 2000 and 2001. Think about this backline:

    Jolley.....Hernandez......Pope.....Ziadie

    Pretty solid.

Even if the cap weren't an issue, I wouldn't want to see this. Jolley is playing some of the best soccer of his career in the middle, and he and Pope are really starting to understand each other. Also, Digi seems to be playing very well as a back, so if we are looking at a new player, that player should be a wingmid.

Hernandez is poison in the locker room. Bradley would never tolerate him. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

daniel hernandez is a standup guy and was the heart of the metros for a few seasons, i think we should get villegas back too and while your at it maybe lalas and branco will come back and caricola too, how about edmundo rodriguez or ezra hendrickson, damn we've had some scrubby players
