You don't think so? I actually think it was stronger. From 01-05, the competition was fierce and the scudetto race was always pretty tight. Then when Juventus got relegated , Roma still came in second 3 out of 4 years when Inter reigned. They also won 2 Coppa Italia tournaments. The last 8 years its been all Juve and no one can compete with them. The Serie A isn't as tough now as from 2000-2011 when you had Juve, Roma, Inter and Milan all winning important competitions.
I wouldn't nitpick the Scudetto. Franco put up the money and was rewarded. But crediting Rosella with trophies and saying she's better than Jimmy is pure laziness. She had prime Totti and De Rossi and only landed a few Coppas.
Rosella inherited the team from her father so he she had him to thank. Batistuta, Aldair , Samuel , Panucci , Totti, DDR and the other great players that decade notwithstanding, they were still much better in the 2000's than Pallotta's team is now. I think Rudi Garcia had a great run for a while and EDF's win against Barca last year are the only things that I can't think of that really stand out since he bought the team.
