What a terrible move and Juric is better? Please, that's a downgrade.

I like it. Roma are a proper soccer team. It's a cutthroat business. I wish my milan had the onions to fire incompetence. At all levels.

He's a good coach but why hire a guy who plays exclusively 3-5-2.... seems bizzare given the market... we have 4 CB, we don't really have dominant wing backs either and what happens now with Soule ?

This seems like a mess of a situation

The fact they hired Juric today makes me think there is truth to the rumors of an internal bust up between DDR and Souloukou... it seems like they didn't have a prepared plan for the aftermath, the players even turned up for training this morning before it was cancelled

Gotta wonder how all our new signings are gonna take this

When I talked to my cousins on Sunday, I knew DDR would be fired after Genoa tied....

Outside of the nostalgic part of DDR being coach, the writing was on the wall since last season. We won 2/7 of our final league games and lost to BL in Europa. Then we started this season with even less enthusiasm and what actually looked like a decline in play. I can’t imagine things were going to get better this season.

The big question for me is what Juric will do with Pellegrini & Cristante. If those two are on the field this weekend, then I don’t expect much of anything this season.

A club's loyalty when he was a player means nothing when he became coach.

Juric is Gasperini lite. It’ll be a return to 3 at the back. He likes 4 in the mid, with two 10s behind the lone striker with a the focal points being on the #10s. I think Roma have the players to make his system work. But his Torino were unwatchable for years. Very boring team that could not score goals.

I want to know what Souloukou's beef was with DDR. If its purely based on this opening start to the season after money spent then that leads to questions if shes knowledgeable enough regards football. Business and law sure but not the workings of the game. If its all her doing then we can just pick on @Andreas. That seems pretty reasonable to me.

If we count last season too... only 1 victory in 11 matches. Just playing devil's advocate here. I don't expect things to drastically improve suddenly under Juric so I don't approve this decision btw.

She is the one who made almost all the decisions on the market, with Ghisolfi being a point of reference especially in the operational, rather than management, part.

Interesting part that hints at to the source.

Cristante is represented by the same agency as Juric. :ROFLMAO: Mancini amd Baldanzi too.

We can expect to see this formation under Juric. Not a bad one. Just hope for Baldanzi in place of Pellegrini.

Juric deserves the benefit of the doubt, but after further reflection, I have no idea what they are thinking here. Torino made some modest yet decent investments in recent years and should have at least competed for the European spots. Yet they were stuck in mid table hell for the whole time he was the coach. He isn’t a step down, but certainly not a step up.

I remember when he was at Torino his team would dominate the first 75 minutes with his pressing system, but they would run out of gas at the end and concede goals--which was a problem for them because they struggled to put the ball in the back of the net so would often be holding on to 1-0 leads

However the problem at Torino was he had no quality on the bench for the last spell of the game & generally terrible strikers, interested to see what he does with this squad as there is a lot more quality and depth on the bench this season for him to work with

tbf, all of these coaches started him apart from a short string of games under Jose.

I don’t know that I buy the lack of quality on the bench thing especially when it comes offensive play. Torino scored 36 goals last year. That is relegation level. There were teams that were worse than them on paper like Frosinone, Genoa, Verona etc. that scored more.

Never a dull time in Roma World. On the surface this seems borderline absurd, surely there is more to the story that will come out eventually.
I know nothing about Juric, I'll reserve judgement on the hire.

    Oof what a day.
