Caracol described it as a "golazo" for some reason

Muñoz may just be a better #9 option than Borre

Sigh. Why can't we have the best RB AND the most promising 9 in SA football?

This isn't one or the other and we don't have take shots at our players.

Someone said it recently here but I hadn't noticed until I read it... Almost all the negative chatter about our players is from Colombian people. Its weird.

Duran can't be taken seriously in Saudi.

if our most promising player plays in Saudi we're screwed

Well, he does and yet we don't seem screwed. He may go away but we have a lot of talent.

Doesn't mean we have anyone else remotely as gifted as a ball striker as the kid.

he's not playing at a competitive level, so he cannot be considered.

same as Cucho when he was in MLS.

I'd rather call up the buffalo Morelos from Atletico Nacional.

Why would we cut off our nose to spite our face? Out of pride? He's the best finisher we have by streets.

If he comes to a call up and is out of shape, then of course he doesn't continue but if he contributes he stays.

Especially given his value off the bench - one of the rare players that doesn't need to start to have big impact on a game.

He did something dumb (a lot of things, and I suffer them more than most here because Villa's form has dipped in his absence), but no sense in trying to teach him a lesson if it reduces Colombia's chance of success. (And before you say, "well, he will be less sharp because..." - we can find that out with no risk to begin with).

I think he is suspended for the next match anyway so whether he gets called up and the reasons will be interesting either way.

The level of league doesn't define the level of a player. Our captain and most important player was playing for us and rightly so without a club and not even playing at all, we've played Uribe while he's played in the Middle East and we'll play Duran too. It's hugely dissapointing that Duran went there, but it doesn't mean he's a different player, even if his level dropped 20% he's still our best 9.

And yet he cost us the last two games. Needs to figure out how to express that energy on the NT productively and become a leader rather than a liability.

Ever since the Copa Uruguay game when he fell into the trap of getting a red card he has not been reliable for us.
Unfortunately though he is the best we got at RB (By Far) so there is never anyone to push him or keep him in check. If he had a little competition I think it would make him think twice and do better.

I love him as a player but can't stand his personality. How he got into these stupid fights both in the friendly against bolivia and then few weeks later when it really counted against uruguay. And then how he acts innocent afterwards and try to play everybody for a fool. And then the in the final laughing his ass off with maluma in the stands instead of sitting with the team and giving moral support.
But I guess these great players have that in them many of them, it's something similar with Duran, always with his stupid cards and smartass answers during interviews. Reminds me a little bit of Zlatan, hated his guts too personality-wise.
