Well accoridng to a poll on MLSnet.com he is. Who is the best defensive midfielder in MLS? 19% Pablo Mastroeni 23% Chris Armas 7% Richie Williams 4% Richard Mulrooney 3% Ryan Nelsen 44% Daniel Hernandez 129 Votes
Makes sense to me... Yesterday he played within 10 yards of the half line on defence and offence. He hardly went forward on attack or back in defence. So he is the best at doing that!
If he were I think he would be regularly called into the Nats camp. I would rate Armas, Mulrooney, and Pablo better. Maybe Hernandez has the largest extended family, or maybe it's because he has played on the most teams. He seems to have been popular wherever he has been.
I'd suggest re-watch the tape. Hernandez won a ton of balls and did some yeoman's work in distribruting the ball until the "great collapse". During the collapse, KC made a concerted effort to bypass the central midfiled and play down the wings in back of Heaps and Franchino. Hernandez didn't play any better than anyone else during that spell, but he certainly wasn't the cause of the problems. Please tell me if you can what Leo Cullen was doing all game.
WoW! I just like pissed myself! DH best D-Mid in MLS hehehe silly to say the least... I needed that laugh. thanks.
