I am listening to the Dan Patrick Radio Show on ESPN Radio- Dan and his partner (I am not sure who it is) were just talking about Arsenal.

They did the whole recap of the game this weekend, about the 115 year old record, and talked about TH14. Dan was having difficulty pronouncing his first name. They then got on a tangent when his partner said Titi is better than Beckham (they didn't mention that they play 2 different positions, but he is better nonetheless). They were joking how both becks (posh and him) were washed up and that DB was a better singer than Posh.

Good to see that one, Arsenal are being recognized all over and two, making fun of becks in the states.

It surely must be the apocalypse when you get the radio guys on ESPN talking about non-WC soccer.

    BTW...congrats on a great season.

I know that most American and Canadian sports fan listen to sports radio here. For those across the pond. Is there a radio station in the UK that is devoted to sports? I would love to listen to some sports talk in the UK while at work here.

Well, Baseball is supposed to be the "National Pasttime", but I do believe the NFL has surpassed MLB in TV ratings. Try sitting through a full baseball game...I dare you!!!:)

    1. NFL
    2. MLB
    3. NBA
    4. NHL
    5. MLS

BTW, the mls is not far behind the nhl in tv ratings, either.

The NBA has to be more popular than Baseball, isn't it?

Any NBA game is a borefest. NFL games are entirely preditable. But their collegiate counterparts are fantastic ans full of passion.

No, I'd say the popularity ranking in the current US sports landscape looks like this:

    1.) National Football League
    2.) College Football
    3.) Major League Baseball
    4.) NASCAR (sad but true)
    5.) College Basketball
    6.) National Basketball Association
    7.) National Hockey League
    8.) Major League Soccer
    9.) Arena League Football
    10.) Women's National Basketball Association

This list is pure opinion, based on my observations of what is televisied the most and what is covered by ESPN and FOX Sports the most.

Actually, in terms of ratings and attendance, NASCAR is currently the #2 sport in the USA. I really don't consider motorsports a sport per se, but the networks do, and the fact is that NASCAR has been the only sport where ratings have grown over the past 5 years. The NFL has remained flat while other sports are losing ratings share.
