wannabe comedian

Is it just me or all of these columnists have a deep desire to be comedians. Not just this guy, but also Bradley, "the Clean Sheet guy" and USA Today Beau. Or could it be that they have run out of stuff to write about and are now trying their hand at soccer satire?
