as I need to gripe about something, if they would have given it color by adding yellow socks to the bland white, they would look awesome on the pitch and the players would actually pop on TV

On CoG, they were talking about how jersey's will never please everyone but us as fans have to realize we will get new Jerseys every year and optionis will change year to year and people usually come around on jersey's after they are out of rotation and they go on sale.

I am proof of this as a just bought the navy Galaxy jersey because it was on sale, my only mistake was buying it before I found out they were going to have a 40% off sale next week, at this rate I may get the current green LA jersey.

Very interesting words from Riqui there in that interview. For those not fluent in Spanish, he mentioned that the team's goal was to finish top 3 in the conference, and then a reporter followed up asking what exactly the team needs to do to get there. He immediately replied about how he/the team has seen and heard the talk regarding where they'll finish, and without naming names he called out a former colleague (Sacha Klejstan) and how they felt disrespected with what he said about them and where they'll finish. Hopefully Sacha's burn about the Galaxy being a former 90s action star looking for a comeback rubbed the senior players the wrong way and will provide the proper chip on the shoulder/fire in their belly to go out and prove a point... Go Galaxy!!!

I do hope he is motivated bt Sacha’s comments. But I would have preferred his answer to how they were going to turn it around to be something concrete like “We have to quit conceding so many goals. And that starts with me and the rest of the midfield - we need to do a better job protecting the backline and at stopping counterattacks. With our returning talent and new offensive minded players we know we will score goals - we just need to fix our defense. If we do that you will see us in the Finals.”

I found this interesting, per vivid seats, the most popular teams by county, and it sure looks like the Galaxy are holding the fort in Southern California and parts of Arizona, however it seems that RSL is the go-to team, west of the Mississippi River and the Fire popping up in Nevada is a bit of an eye opener.

There are so many errors in that article I think it was written by AI. To start with Texas only has 100 counties.

Not really Galaxy, but I could have sworn I saw a “Debut” badge on one of the Seattle players kits. Not a fan. More cruft on increasingly busy kits.

They are apparently doing that for the debut games of each player, to provide them with a keepsake. If it's not a full year thing, it's not really a big deal.

I disagree it is a big deal, its something the player will cherish and its a unique keepsake for the player, its a small thing but I believe a lasting memory for the debutant and something really cool that MLS is doing for the player and I wouldn't mind seeing it in other sports.

however, I do agree for the spectators its a non factor. :)

I have changed my stance on these debut patches, it turns out its a marketing ploy to sell more merchandise, they are going to take the patch and put it on a Topps card, so much for me thinking it would be a nice personal memento for the player

Definitely not a big deal. Just seems so on the nose. It’s like explaining a joke, if you have to, it’s not a very good one.

Anyone at the game last night note any changes in the game presentation?

Probably hard to draw conclusions until we see what the standard (non Messi) changes will be.

I thought the lazers were a little lame coming out of half time but I have a black, cold, heart.

I was amazed how early fans were in their seats. I know they lied about kick off time but still. Maybe people wanted to see as much of Messi as possible (including warm ups).

I don't think I noticed too much different in the stadium. Universal Studios logo above the restaurant was replaced with a Galaxy badge. Looked good.

Lots of high end set ups throughout but I bet most of those were Messi related.

I didn't try any concessions so don't know if they added anything good.
