I took Doc's advice and wooled it up. Kept toasty warm until nearly the end. If I'd the sense to wear a cap I think that would have done the trick.

But man o man it was definitely worth it. I was about 20 feet behind Nicol when the ref finally killed the game. Nicol turned toward the stands and let out a shriek -- what an expression of absolute joy he wore, rarely seen its like.

So, when he wins Coach of the Year, will they have to call him "Interim Coach of the Year"...?

Wasn't cold in the "fort". Actually I, and a few others, I noticed, stripped down a bit because of keeping active. A benefit of being in the fort and having two cups of coffee just prior to kickoff.
Well done Revs and fans. See you next week. he he. Tomorrow is Columbus day. Today is Revs day.

All you need to keep you warm is a Midnight Rider scarf.

Nothing else. (Please. Won't some sweet young thing test this theory. For Science. Honestly. ;) )

I hope that everyone (that didn't bail out early upon clinching) picked up on the "Stevie Nichols-clap-clap-clapclapclap" chant.

Not to mention the Taylor Twellman - Rusty Pierce - Wolde Harris, and others chants. ;)

Oh it was heard. The "we all laugh", etc., etc. was a big hit in 109 as well. (I heard it last week, but a bunch of folks around me picked up on it this week).

Not sure how I missed the Stevie Nicol chant. I was there until well after the match ended. Watching players and coaches celebrate with each other and with the fans was wonderful as was sharing the overwhelming joy with those left in 108.

Did hear the "We all laugh..." chant again today. Several in 108/109 etc joined in on the "Adin Brown" chants. Funny to see half of 108 bowing to Brown in the Wayne's World "we're not worthy" style.

Anyone else see Chacon standing on the bench with a few minutes to go asking the crowd to stand up and cheer the team on? I followed his lead and asked the same of 108 myself. Everyone was up and this time I wasn't asked to sit down. I love it when the crowd gets into it. The 12th man was definitely present today.

Layers was definitely a good move. I've finally learned after years of rainy matches (i.e. US v Ireland).

That "Your going home like Chicago" chant was great too.

I really didn't notice the cold. Maybe that's because I wore long underwear, three shirts, two jackets, and a cheap blue rain parka.

It was great to see Dunseth pull one of his trademark bonehead plays. I was sitting in the Fort at the time, and watched Dunseth immediately yell at Busch for not coming out. That's what pressure will do.

Hats off to Chacon for a very good game, particularly on defense. He has kept his mouth shut and accepted his role. I hate to throw the word "class" around, but he has it.

We actually discarded jackets in the fort, there were a couple bare bodied guys also.

Talk about class, long after the Nichol chant which was the last individual chant, Wolde Harris came over to the fort to slap hands. What a guy.

What a joy it will be to watch the Revs challenge the galaxy next weekend.

    Go Rev's

I was wet and freezing. I broke down and paid $6 for a mug of hot chocolate.

But I wouldn't have rather been anywhere else!

The souveneir mug the hot chocolate came in is pretty nice. That was a nice bonus.

The Guiness (sp?) was 6.50. Talk about paying just a little more to get a lot more!
