looks like we got ourself a little competition going on. Convey was clearly the the better player today. Will DMB be switched back to a Left-Back spot while Convey slides up? I think we'll have this answer question by the time MLS opens up.

Not at all. Both Convey and Beasley had equally horrendous showings today, only displaying ability when the USA was going all offense at the end. If they'd been able to play defense and connect their passes earlier, the US wouldn't have had to resort to desparation soccer at the end.

Not that they were the only ones. The entire backline was embarrassing, as was Clint. But all that Bobby and DaMarcus were competing for today was WOTM honors.

i'm not so sure Convey played that badly defensivly. His one mistake that I can recall was leaving his men wide open on the free kick (or was it a corner?). He made a bunch of pretty good defensive plays, and matched well with his partner on D in Boca.

I have to agree with appooOnU. In the second half, playing more midfield, Convey was the engine of the team. Skill-wise, he showed more than Beasely, and creativity-wise, he was also better. The defensive problems were horrendous, but attributable to disorganization and poor communication, perhaps stemming more from Olsen's poor contribution than anything the defenders did or didn't do. Nevertheless, I greatly prefer Convey to Beasely, at this time.

I think we should try leaving DMB at left mid and try Convey at forward... but the problem there is who will play LB. It probably would have been better if Wade Barett stayed in the MLS. I think the MLS is as good as the Danish League. We should stilll try Convey at LB more.... after all he's only played it, what, two times?

Convey was pushing up and pinching in towards the center, let him have a shot over Ben in the center.

Not with this roster. That leaves us with out either a satisfactory Leftback or Left-Mid. Unless your thinking about having Ben olsen play as L-Mid and DMB as Leftback?

You're forgetting about Frankie Hejduk. He can be our leftback.

How about Olsen as left back, and leave DMB in front of him. There have been plenty of times when Ben has earned himself comparisons with Heydude.

Hasn't John O'Brien played some left back with Ajax? (or I'm confusing my facts?). What about JOB at left back and Convey at AM?

    We've got Hedjuk, Lewis, O'Brien...

Things aren't as bad as they seem at this position, it's just not of those guys were available for today's match.

my last post, about the roster, concerned the Roster at hand. And now that I think about, if you were to combine the missing players (read: Pope, Reyna, JOB, Sanneh, McBride) with this squad(Hello there Carlos and Bobby) you would get an absolute kick-ass team :)
