Yeah, their team certainly cratered this year.

Thanks, I'll be here all week!

That's pretty funny considering that Chicago was the only team in the league not to win a single point in Southlake this year.

Yes, I'm sure we'd be willing to give up the Open Cup and the Supporters shield for one of those precious points

Maybe instead, you should hope for a day when the Chicago Fire don't immediately grab their ankles immediately once they get off the plane at D/FW Airport.

Or does "Firehouse South" simply reflect your innocent hope that the results at Uncle Lamar's House of Whoop-Ass can't possibly be worse than the beatdowns that your team has routinely taken at the Cotton Bowl and at Dragon Stadium?

    Colorado didn't get squat, either.

But at least the Rapids showed some fight.

that looks a little small for a stadium, but then again it will fill that 7,000 average attendance quite nicely.

Let's see... The Fire had the following choices:

    a) thrash the pitiful Burn in a game that means very little

    or

    b) take it easy, not get anyone hurt, and win some actual silverware three days later.

This shouldn't exactly be a difficult choice to make, even for a Burn fan. Then again, you guys haven't seen decent coaching or been in contention for a trophy in so long, I can't blame you for not knowing what to do in that situation.

Enjoy the off season. Between finding out who your new coach will be and keeping track of the progress on your new stadium, it should be an interesting one.

I can hate the first guy too.

If I remember correctly, he is the mope that bitterly complained about Kenny Cooper signing with Man United and backing out of his scholarship to SMU. He went on and on about loyalty and promises yadda yadda.

That's neat and all, but your team hasn't won a single game in Dallas since July 1999. What are your excuses for the 1999 playoffs and the 2000, 2001, and 2002 seasons?

The owner of the land isn't sure he wants to sell. The city just voted itself Eminant Domain. Hopefully just as as threat. I would not want to see this go to court.

The lease on Drangon Stadium is for two years, with an option on a third. Three years would be too much to take.

I know how sorry you all feel for us.

eminent domain would not be bad; that way the city gets its hands on the property immediately, the Burn get to work, and the landowner can waste all the time he wants in court, arguing about the value of the property.

that's not to say i'm excited by the idea of cities taking over someone's property to place a sports stadium "for the public good." but that's another argument for another day.
