Updated scenarios, correct me if any of these are wrong, utilizing this http://www.mlsnet.com/special/mlscup/02/media/playoff_scenarios.pdf... Win: We're In. Lose: We're out: Tie: As far as I can tell we're in, unless KC wins or ties and the MET-NE game ends in a tie.
Yes this seems correct as kc has 35 points now and so does ny and ne so if we tie we will have 35 points also and hold tiebreakers over all 3 teams.
This was a classy way to wrap up ESPN2 regular season coverage: 1. Great (active/loud) crowd. 2. Exciting football 3. Lead Changes 4. Good commentating (except for the DC Fighting for their playoff lives repitition)
I went to the match last night. Am stuck in DC for work. First time I've been to an MLS match outside of the Chicago area. My first impression was RFK reminded me quite a bit of Soldier Field. Old, decrepit, pretty good sight lines, etc. Once the match started, I discovered I was in the same general area as the Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava. Not to sound like Hank Hill, but "I tell you what," that bouncing seating area is a blast. It was absolutely awesome. No way you can sit there and not yell and there's not a chance of sitting on your hands. While the outcome was a bitch for the home fans, the match was awesome to watch. Tying goal came for DC right as the announcer was telling the amount of stoppage time in the 2nd half. The remaining 4 minutes was a peppering of both goals. No - it wasn't the Fire and I didn't have much of a vested interest in the outcome, but it was a fun match. Glad to see a decent product on the field. Also, I notice Big Soccer advertising in the stadium and the program. How come Chicago doesn't get any of that?
