I've got a couch in my room if you need a place to crash. But i just checked and there are rooms Downtown on Hotwire for 80 bucks including tax. Beats driving and i'm sure it's cheaper than taking a cab.
There are some cool places over in Greenville that I've been to and seen online. Plus they are all in walking distance of each other (after getting there in a cab).
There are plenty of places close by. I ran a loop around most a few weeks ago. Should be a lot of fun!
Last I heard or saw him he was getting remarried and was still promising to show up to watching parties. Deep Elm will have alot of things down there, but the cops are dicks.
I sent him an email, first one got no response. Found a new address for him and sent one there too. Will see. As Chris said he liked to promise to show up but then bail last minute.
It's a pretty prestigious Youth tournament. I know Liverpool won it in 2008, Martin Kelly scored in the Final. Some pretty big names have played in it when young, the likes of Beckham, Raul, Carrick, Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Rafael Marquez, Donovan and Maicon. To some of you going there, you will likely see one or two future superstars.
Ignasi Miguel, Emmanuel Frimpong and Conor Henderson all should be playing. I know Henderson has made the trip, not sure on the others yet.
Miquel will not be at the Dallas Cup... Spain u19s have a match, and they called him up according to the the guy who writes Young Guns
for those who are going to the games at Pizza Hut, there is also a Londoner Pub, right at the end of the the stadium parking lot, @ the intersection of the tollway and main. Its usually a good meeting point, there is also a nice mexican restaurant "matitos", right by main and world cup ave , both have a nice patio
A few of us will dip in there on Wednesday. And if we're lucky enough to have another game Friday, there will be a bunch of us.
They have done a good job with that complex as businesses have moved it. It just is over 30 miles from downtown and the old stadium that FC Dallas played at. I am in the suburbs and it is a drive even for me. That is why FC Dallas have attendance issues. But for events like this a great complex.
Some pics. Don't get too excited. My camera was stolen on a trip to Detroit (who would have thought?) so quality is so so: http://www.flickr.com/photos/steverossen/sets/72157626512022756/
