I have just learned of Pubs having watched Real Madrid on Wed at Trinity Hall. I was wondering if we could make some sort of list of good places to watch Soccer in the Dallas area. If you have been to a place and know they show a lot of games please let us know where. If you know of a place that is terrible say that as well. Thanks, I don't have Fox Sports World so this is of great interest to me. Trinity Hall seems to be a great place and they list what games will be on each week on their website at www.trinityhall.tv
Get Dish Network Sat and order the Spanish package and you can get your fill of soccer. PM me and Ill tell you how to get free instaltion etc....
A few places I haunt: The Londoner - In Addison (so you can smoke) Beltline and Midway. Usually have FSW on, volume is not always on but will be for some games. I think they get some of the PPV games as well but will charge cover. Don Pepes - Watched the Man U / Porto game there on Tuesday. Mostly a restaurant but they have a bar area and put on ESPN2 for me with sound (they also get FSW, FSWE, Gol) Great drink prices. Friendly. No smoking however as it is Dallas. Dubliner - Greenville Ave. Celtic watching parties here I believe. (but maybe also at Trinity). Small, friendly, Guinness. What else do you need!! Los Sapitos - Always have games on here. Cold beer, inexpensive good food. The place to be for Copa America. Boxing is also popular to watch here so that is good. Fox and Hound - Several around town. So many TVs that you don't have a problem asking to get FSW on. No volume for the games though as they play music unless it is a big NFL game. What else does anyone recommend? Where will the Burn watching parties be this year? I didn't make any last year at Pugsleys so I don't know how that place is. It seems the watching parties get moved each year. Do we not get invitied back? Is someone not tipping their waitresses? Whatever bar I go to I ask if they can put on FSW. Usually they do it (after searching through a hundred channels to find it)
Trinity Hall I give it a two thumbs up. Yes they have a group of Celtic supporters who get priority when it comes to the Big screen when Celtic plays. Also the Dallas Gooners(unofficial name) also meets there. They are good about showing games in the morning and they will show games during the day as long as they have nothing else going on. Good food and good service. Its an Irish place so you can';t beat that. Pugsleys has been sold and will become an adult entertainment place in the near future. Personally I don't care i they move from there or not. They were usually decent and nice to Scipio and myself, but they did lack in some areas and made a number of people upset. Also a place called Ball's over by SMU has shown some NT games. They aren't bad, but finding a parking spot is.
Arsenal identifies why I so desperatly want to go back to Pugley's Library. I think a gentlemen's club is exactly the right place for our watching parties. Lots of consolation after a tough loss. Pugley's was all right for Arsenal, Janice and I, perhaps a few burn staffers. More than that, and they were seriously understaffed. The main advantages were ample parking and a good location. As of now, there is no official watching party location. The lack of satisfaction with Pugley's last season resulted in Inferno members going to Balls or Trinity Hall. I would appreciate opinions from these people. I am concerned about parking and atmosphere. Tough to watch a game while a band is playing in Trinity Hall. I think the Hard Rock was the best place they ever put us. I doubt Primus Jonno would allow that again, though. Cheers! Sir Drinxalot
Shady Side has Man Utd matches on from time to time - http://www.shadysidecafe.nv.switchboard.com/ I haven't been but I did call and they were showing a Setanta match. I didn't see anyone mention Ben's Halfyard House...
