.... though not with United. It seems Paul is gonna be on trial with the Burn while they are in FLA next week. The Burn will leave Monday for training in Miami, where Jeffries said he'll look at several more trial players. Scottish forward Paul Dalglish, Trinidad forward Jarren Nixon and Spanish midfielder Ivan Iglesias are among the players the squad will try out while competing against other MLS teams. http://www.dfw.com/mld/startelegram/sports/5239467.htm Can't believe he'd be too high on their pecking order if he made the squad but you never know.
Hmm, the Burn have Tyson Nunez nibbling on the line and are bringing Dalglish in for a trial ... that sounds like an old DC United fishing report. -Tron
He missed his opportunity with DC United. Interesting to read that Tyson Nunez is nibbling on the Burn's line. Any links?
Jose, my understanding is that Fernando Clavijo is now sort of a quasi-agent, has tied to Nunez and would get a fee if he came to MLS. So Clavijo is pushing this hard. It's difficult to tell how realistic all this is. The latest word appears to be that it would be some sort of "partial-loan" (despite the fact that MLS doesn't allow loans). Go figure.
There have been many links over the past few weeks, but here's the most recent. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/soccer/stories/022203dnspoburndate_.1be16.html -Tron
use the traditional bigsoccer@bigsoccer.com password:bigsoccer mumbo jumbo. almost everything works with that. if it doesnt set it up.
And I can't help but shrug. The man struggled to score goals in the English second division. Our last player to have played there before coming to MLS was the slowest man ever, Mark Watson. And he was a successful second division player, if I recall. Aside from a famous name, it seems Dalglish has little else to offer the league. I hope he signs for the metros.
