When i was a very young kid my ol dad used to take me to Leytonstone who played in the Isthmian League. Very famous old amateur team like Bishop Aukland, and his team Clapton.
If i understand it right Leytonstones ground was sold to property developers. Leytonstone then amalgamated with with Ilford and Redbridge, later with Dagenham, forming Dagenham and Redbridge.

I have followed their results as the one i look for after West Ham. Dagenham won promotion to league 2 today. We beat the Arse so i'm well chuffed.

The old boy was a gooner so he never wanted to go to the hammers. Also slightly war injured and couldn't take Arsenal V West Ham crowds in Derby games. I enjoyed the Amatuer games though.

Congratulations to the Daggers and of course our ammers.

As a young lad I supported Clapton. Later I played for them. I was in their youth team that knocked Spurs out of the FA youth cup in...... 1960, or 61. 2-1 it was and I thought that I could be a pro footballer. I found out later that I was nowhere near the standard required.

Dagenham was in the Athenian League I think. Ilford, another Isthmian side, amalamated with Redbridge and they later joined up with Daggers.

We are getting old, ain't we?----Well some of us have got old.

There you go beating the spuds the year before I was born. Now I remember watching Ilford win the amateur FA cup in 19??. When was it? Buggered if I can remember. I guessing somewhere between 68 and 71.
    Anyway, well done you daggers.

Thanks for the support, you are spot on with our history, I think the merge was a great thing to happen to all parties involved and now we can stand united as one in the League Two.

I'd like to congratulate you lot on beating Arsenal, I hope you Hammers stay up because my family won't be happy if you don't. :p
