Hurray, St-Etienne are now free to recruit after two years of restrictions... :D

It might be hard to accept these decisions for fans (not being able to recruit players with a important fee), but they make a world of difference to help avoiding teams going into oblivion like English clubs...

I, for one, hope UEFA forces all leagues to have such an organ. I know Germany has something similar, but more control in England and Italy sure wouldn't hurt.

    Angers (L2): Retrogradation in National

    http://www.equipe.fr/Football/20040609_225125_01.html

The national Management of control of management (DNCG) decided to retrogress Angers, of League 2 in National, announced Wednesday the League of professional football (LFP).

The club, which can make call within six day as from the notification of the decision, n'a not reacted yet. Angers SCO, promoted in 2003-2004 in L2, had finished the season with the 13e place, five points of the relegated first. The president of the club, Patrick Norbert, had announced at the beginning of this month qu'il separated from his trainer Noël Tosi, who had arrived at the beginning of February to save the formation angevine relegation.

The d'Angers municipality had had to pour last September an additional financial participation of 596.000 euros to sponge the deficit of the club. C'est this financial commitments of the town hall which had made it possible to confirm the place of the SCO Leagues 2 of them, to which it came d'accéder.

In the tread, the municipality, at the request of municipal l'opposition, had created in October a mission d information and d evaluation for the SCO Angers, intended to control management of it. Right before that, the club s'était found in the juridico-financial heart d'un imbroglio with l'été 2003 which had caused the departure of its preceding president, the journalist of the chain Canal+ Philippe Doucet, arrived at the head of the SCO in June 2002.

In addition, the DNCG also decided l'encadrement wage bill and l'interdiction to recruit subject to payment for Grenoble (L2). It on the other hand gave its green light in Strasbourg (L1) which can from now on freely recruit for the season to come.

Three other clubs, Brest (promoted in L2), Valence (relegated in National) and Rouen (relegated in National) were seen meaning a controlled recruitment and an opinion favourable to the professional statute for one year. Like Angers, all these clubs can make call within six day as from the notification of the decision.

The commission put on of deliberated its decisions relating to Bordeaux (L1), Istres (promoted in L1), Montpellier (relegated in L2), Créteil (L2) and Besancon (relegated in National). The other decisions will be known Thursday.

    Troyes is given a break...

Back in L2, but with some sacrifices...

Budget down 30%, 4 players out of contract not signed back and salaries cut 10 to 25%. Thus, they end up making the choices that should have been made last year when they went down.

Again, I believe the DNCG does a real good job on finance discipline for french clubs.

Also, Angers is going into appeal about their administrative relegation.

Can't wait to see the decision on Istres. Surely they'll be slap with a "controlled recruitment at no cost" policy since their finances can't be that strong. TV rights are huge in L1, but no fans means no ticket sales & no merchandising.

    AC Ajaccio (10660 places)

je comprend pas pourquoi c'est 2 clubs Corse (stade doit etre au norme) sont toujours en L1 malgré la tragedie de 1992 (a Bastia-Marseille)
    http://www.curagiu.com/furiani.htm
meme pas foutu de refaire leur stade,a par posée des bombes ça il save faire, mais pour faire un stade...

    Bastia (10130 places)
    AC Ajaccio (10660 places)

I does not include/understand why c'est 2 clubs Corsica (stage must be to the standard) are always in L1 in spite of the tragedie of 1992 (Bastia-Marseilles has) http://www.curagiu.com/furiani.htm same step foutu to remake their stage, by posed bombs that it save to make, but to make a stage...

Si SCO ANGERS se retrouve en National, c'est la fin des haricots !

If SCO ANGERS is relegated to National, it's the end of the beans !
