My name is Pat Letts. As some of you know I work for D.C. United in the sales department sort of concentrating on getting more Baltimore soccer fans to come down to RFK. I have worked out an agreement with the Baltimore Blast. We are going to do a D.C. United night at the blast game and they in turn will promote one of our matches to their fans. The D.C. UNITED NIGHT AT THE BALTIMORE BLAST will be March 7th kickoff at 7:35pm tickets are deeply discounted to $12 for this match, which will also be televised on Fox Soccer Channel (The Blast have blocked off sections behind the one goal that will get the D.C.U. fans on FSC all night!!!) Plus, the Barra Brava can hang their Banner over the railing. DCU fans are allowed to bring their drums, flags (small ones), wear black and red , and cheer for DCU as well as the Blast. If you are interested in tickets you can call or email 202-587-5431 (DCU Office); 410-302-3613 (cell) PLetts@dcunited.com You can also call Mike Conway at the Blast 410-558-4292 I hope you all can support this as a warm-up for our season
Good chance for all you Batimore Barra to represent. PM me or Srdan if interested in taking the banner up.
Thanks, Pat! Should be a good time...and we're playing Philly. Maybe we can meet at Midtown for happy hour again (same place as after the draft) if people can get here early enough?
Pat had mentioned to me maybe getting some some buses for VA and DC peeps if the interest is there. At $12 bucks a pop, it sounds like a pretty good deal. Post here if interested so Pat can guage the interest.
If they promise to keep the omnipresent blaring music down to a dull roar, I might consider it. Otherwise, it's prime for causing a headache and is very disagreeable to a futbol fan. GM
Kristen and I will be there. Srdan I think we can pick up the banner on the way up...but why won't you be there?
We'll bring the banner to the Bash at RFD's. Michele offered to take it up. Whoever takes it has to make sure I get it before I leave for KC. Unfortunately I'll be out of town for the Blast game. Where did Srdan say he wasn't going?
I'll bring it back to Baltimore w/me after the pre-season bash since I'm already here and can get to the arena early w/help to set it up...but it would be cool if you can get it back to Chico in time for KC?
I don't think it was mentioned, but the opponent is the Philly Kixx. Which is "ok", but it would have been better it it was the MISL team from Jersey... Because their Goalie is no other than: Fat Tony I'm sure the last thing he'd like to see is a group of the Barra camped out only a few feet behind his goal.
I will know about any bus option on Monday and post here later that day, but either way if you are interested in tickets to this Blast game on March 7th give me a call 202-587-5431 or 410-302-3613. I am going to be handling the Barra tickets, so that way its only the Barra together in one section. You can also email me at PLetts@dcunited.com as well to let me know how many tickets you want and a number to call you back and also if you would only be in if we had a bus from D.C. Hopefully, many of you can make the game regardless of having a bus or not. Thanks for any support!
We'd definitely be in if it was Fat Tony (and a win, Philly and B'more is actually competitive). Might be in anyway! We turned on and saw they beat Chitcago 18-8 last night, saw Denison The Menacin' Cabral. I remember him from the WartHog days
not sure I wanna play on I-95 during rush hour. Or take Barra banner to Blast game any more than Caps or Wizards game. I forwarded it to Oscar, but not sure if he checked email hehe
No go on the Bus, but I have spoken with some Barra members from D.C. and they are going to take the train up to Penn Station and either walk or take the light rail to the arena. There are a few bars one block from the arena on Pratt St. Downtown Sports Exchange 201 Pratt St. and The Wharf Rat right next door. I have the Barra section tickets now, so if anyone is interested please call 202-587-5431; 410-302-3613 or email me at pletts@dcunited.com
You don't have to deal with I-95 (much) if you take the light rail from Glen Burnie. Hey, will they allow bagpipes in the arena?
Bagpipes, drums, barra chants/songs won't mean much if they continue to blast jock rock over the PA during the game. What are their plans for said "music"?? GM
I'll be bringing some tickets for this to the Barra Bash 3/1. You have to contact Pat to pay by credit card, otherwise, you can give me your dough and I will give you a ticket. Pat's info: 202-587-5431 410-302-3613 pletts@dcunited.com
