The DC United 2003 Team Awards were handed out last night. HONDA Most Valuable Player: Dema Kovalenko ADT Defender of the Year: Ryan Nelsen Budweiser Scoring Champion: Marco Etcheverry US Soccer Federation Foundation Humanitarian: Ben Olsen Coaches' Award: Bryan Namoff http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=main&cont_id=211148 MVP, Defender of the Year, and Humanitarian are decided by a panel of media. I agree with the Dema & Nellie picks (don't know enough about their off-field work to say about Ben).
Re: Re: D.C. United 2003 Team Awards The fact that our points leader only had 19 points isn't great news either, espically since 10 of those points came off PKs.
That's why I always see Benny with those skinny little waif-like young girls --- he's feeding the hungry
Re: Re: Re: D.C. United 2003 Team Awards Considering that our top scorer last year was a defender (Nelsen), actually this is progress! Who knows, next year it could be a striker.
Re: Re: Re: D.C. United 2003 Team Awards Most importantly, all five of those goals hit the back of the net and counted.

great to see Namoff get recognition for busting his ass all season long - sometimes it seemed he was the only one listening to the call for people to step up. I feel proud to wear your kit brian... james
