    The DC United 2003 Team Awards were handed out last night.

    HONDA Most Valuable Player: Dema Kovalenko
    ADT Defender of the Year: Ryan Nelsen
    Budweiser Scoring Champion: Marco Etcheverry
    US Soccer Federation Foundation Humanitarian: Ben Olsen
    Coaches' Award: Bryan Namoff

    MVP, Defender of the Year, and Humanitarian are decided by a panel of media. I agree with the Dema & Nellie picks (don't know enough about their off-field work to say about Ben).

    The fact that our points leader only had 19 points isn't great news either, espically since 10 of those points came off PKs.

    You forgot to include the Honorary Chris Albright Bust Award, which was given to Alecko Eskandarian.

    That's why I always see Benny with those skinny little waif-like young girls --- he's feeding the hungry :)

    Considering that our top scorer last year was a defender (Nelsen), actually this is progress! Who knows, next year it could be a striker.

    I agree Esky hasn't been great but its only his first year. Albright is still flunking MLS.

    great to see Namoff get recognition for busting his ass all season long - sometimes it seemed he was the only one listening to the call for people to step up.
