Next edition of Nations League isn't until 2022, so not like we're being thrown into the deep end right away. Plus, there is a possible World Cup playoff spot available by winning this group.

    FT 2-0

Israel still ahead deep in stoppage time so we are going up.

God I hope we draw Slovakia from Pot 2 in our World Cup qualifying group. Two easy wins right there.

Much like after the U-21 group, ******** Scottish football. The only reason we didn't win this group going away is Coronavirus and injuries.

    Some post match thoughts

    MOTM - Coufal
Other top 3 - Jankto and Ondrasek (just edging out Kral due to the goal)
Worst 3 - Masopust, Darida, and Vydra (although I rated them all average)

    - Jankto is probably our most consistently good player
    - Mateju took his chance and moved ahead of Novak for the backup LB position.
    - Cerny should be a squad fixture going forward if he maintains form

I still don't like the trio of Darida- Soucek - Kral, although Kral especially was a bit more dynamic today than recent matches with this trio. I think we need a more inventive presence, and I think it should be Barak who is back on good form in Italy.

Agree with all those points about yesterday. A few additional thoughts about the past two Nations League games collectively:

    - Masopust is not starting material whatsoever, probably not even good enough to make our squad (if I were picking and not Silhavy) with younger and in form options like Cerny and Provod available going forward.

    - Our defence functioned well, albiet not truly challenged, but notable performances from our fullbacks, and some much needed reassurance from the centrebacks. Two cleansheets is great for us.

    - I probably owe Ondrasek more credit as a footballer (already know he's a great guy and can't praise that aspect enough).

I will say that I'm not entirely sold on that midfield trio either, but for certain match ups against top tier opponents that is still probably the best variant (assuming our most dynamic attacking players are available and playing ahead of them). Otherwise, I agree that Barak should be included in the starting lineup more often in the future.
