Our delivery on corners was awful, and Cluj's counterattack still has me nervous. Another goal would be great.
Stanciu can be brilliant, but his terrible set pieces and constant diving really makes me want a sub.
Great ball to switch play by Hovorka too (although not having a great match), but the defense was way out of position as Boril could have walked into the box.
Yusuf coming on, apparently the first player from Bahrain to play in Champions League. Hopefully does better than last weekend.
Slavia Prague have qualified for Champions League. Another well done tactical performance, and a 7th consecutive clean sheet.
We're in the Champions League! Europa League was fun last year, but man I wish I was back in Prague for this.
Best draw for Slavia for either advancement or placing into Europa League would probably be Zenit, Shakthar, Dinamo or Brugge Worst would be Liverpool, Real Madrid, Inter Milan
I hate this spectacle but am too committed to stop watching now. Next year I'll just check wikipedia after its done.
We are in Group F against Barcelona, Dortmund, and Inter Milan. Not expecting much but experience from this.
With Slavia drawing a group of death, and every other Czech team failing miserably in qualifying - its up to some other leagues' teams to disappoint for us to stay at or near our current Coefficient ranking, and so far it is kind of happening. We got a big help from Slovan Bratislava knocking out Greek giant PAOK out of Europa League, that means that Greece are down to one team in Champions League. The leagues chasing us: 13 Czech Republic 26.900 1 team remaining (Slavia, Champions League) 14 Denmark 25.750 1 team remaining (Kobenhaven, Europa League) 15 Cyprus 25.000 1 team remaining (APOEL, Europa League) 16 Greece 24.700 1 team remaining (Olympiacos, Champions League) 17 Croatia 23.750 1 team remaining (Dinamo Zagreb, Champions League)
Brno won the first crosstown derby against Lisen 2-0. Glad we won, but also very impressed with Lisen this season, hope they continue to stay in the the top 2 leagues. Was great for the city too, over 8,000 in attendance for a 2. Liga match.
Plzen 3 : 2 Jablonec Was a good game, but its also an indication that Plzen seem to be coming back down to earth after a great decade. Kalvach and Kopic are the only players that really look the quality of their previous championship teams. Coincidentally, both scored wonderful technical finishes that likely bailed their team out from falling further behind Slavia this early in the season. My impression though is that this season is a one-horse race. Kopic: 1173650938759909378 is not a valid tweet id Kalvach: 1173639727242776577 is not a valid tweet id Matousek a good match with a goal an assist for Jablonec, but this season he's still struggling with consistency.
With the group your in probably best to keep expectations low. Even so I'm not entirely convinced by your lineup. It's similar tactically to the away match against Sevilla last season which was not a great performance despite getting a draw.
Yeah, and we're starting to rush things compared to when we opened with good possession play. I feel like its back to the original plan of press and frustrate for 90 minutes and hope for the best... just 60 to go.
From what I've seen Inter's GK and back-line don't handle press as well as they do passing so might not be the worst approach. No idea what their GK was just doing, if Olayinka keeps his feet for the tackle that may have been a huge turnover.
