That's very good of Wenger though isn't it? I mean getting rid of a defender, when we need them most!

Yeah, there were times when he did exactly what was expected of him. Would that some other players could live up to those simple standards.

I will miss him; he was my favorite player to joke about. I bet he'll be happy in Villareal--perhaps Reyes also told him about the paella....

Yeah, you could say snarky things about Cygan the defender, but you can't say anything bad about Cygan the squad player. In every sense, it was good having him on Arsenal's bench.

A loyal soldier who didn't deserve most of what was said about him. They can't all be Ronaldinhos.

Well, at least not without freaky cloning.

And that's just never good for the game.

Au Revoir Pascal. One of my favorite Arsenal memories is some old Irish guy sitting behind me at the Prague game, giving a sarcastic play by play highlighting Cygan's crapness. That was funny. I'm actually sorry to see him go, but relieved i'll never have to watch him play again.

P.S. This is the worst year of my life. First Bergkamp, then Yzerman & now Pascal. NO ONE SHOULD LOSE THREE LEGENDS IN ONE SUMMER!

I thought he was pretty good for somebody willing to sit on the bench until needed, got himself quite a few medals and trophy cabinet bigger than Alan Shearer

Definitely Cygan, I'd have a better chance of outrunning him. I'd have to trip Cashley before he got too far ahead of me, then stomp him to make sure he stayed down. ;)

They are utterly desperate as they are going through an injury blight at CB.

I always liked Cygan. He played his role solidly and with heart and class. Those are two things that Assley Cole lacked, that's for sure.

    Good luck at Villareal, Pascal!

Hey, he was our leading scorer this time last year. Two more goals this year and we're top of the table.

    COME BACK PASCAL!

Sad to see him go. I liked the guy and our various troubles over the past year were never his fault, as many had intimated. Teams need players like him, and I'm in agreement with Rick that he was pretty fair passer.

But I knew when it was posted that he had been transferred that we were going to get Gallas because who's next on the CB depth chart with Sol gone and Senderos injured. So while I would have been really disappointed to see him go, the news was heartening....

furthermore, 2 mil is a pretty penny for him- another fine piece of business by Arsenal.
