Since he didn't make it 10 years (though he could have!), Cult Hero Pascal Cygan will never get his well deserved testimonial match. In lieu of this, I have started this thread so we can all share our favorite Cygan memories.

And for inspiration: The last Cygan appreciation post.

    Goodbye ol' bald one.

I almost had his number put on my jersey this year :D

Can't say I'm going to miss him too much. He did help us in all those times of Campbell being out.

    Good luck Pascal!

he was your average CB who did zero spectacular things (positive).
a solid 4th option for our club. then again, i dont think anyone expected the second coming of tony adams did they?

Talk about insult to injury for Pires. ;)

Good Luck Monsieur Cygan! I enjoyed watching you play at times!

This is definitely one of those 'end of an era' transfers for me.

It won't be the same Arsenal without the shiny headed one sitting in the last spot on the bench.

He was the worst roller coaster ride ever. Me no likey. But thanks for putting up with the abuse and the lack of confidence we had in you.

Shame to see him go. He did what he did best, played the clean up defender as a late sub.

When the last one is gone, it really will be an end of an era.

Who will be our new designated own goalscorer now? :(

    ;)
I'm just glad I didn't have to come up with the cash to "sell" him. Are we sure that Arsenal aren't paying Villarreal 2m to take him? :D

Never moaned and never wanted to move away. Always played where ever he was asked even if he wasn't the best. Knew his limitations but just did the best he could. Was very unfairly treated by the fans.

Probably the 2nd best long passer of the ball Arsenal had in the squad. With the best (Reyes) also going, I fear for our long pass situatuation.

Long live Pascal and good luck in Spain.

I bet this is just a cynical ploy of Villareal so that they can sell more t-shirts to slow people... ;)

Was the cause of several near heart attacks, but Cygan was a true soldier. We can do nothing but wish him luck and thank him for his services.

Pascal, you have a giant bald head and I will miss all of your angry, confused, innocent and elated (see brace against Fulham last season) looks on the pitch. Take a bow, son.

Cygan did make me a nervous wreck more than most anybody else, but he was a loyal, hard-working player, who despite his limitations was good to have around.
