This kind of thing is where you begin to lose the trees in the wood....

I don;t know this Paul Weiss from Pope Paul, and I'm guessing I wouldn't have much in common with him - and any association with this character Leon Black is, in my view, certainly not boastable -

however, that said - what is wrong with anyone being in business related consultations with Epstein? Forming an acquaintanceship through actual business work with Epstein (and even liking him under those circumstances) and then using him in trying to finagle a kid's apprenticeship on a Woody Allen movie?
This, frankly, connects him to Epstein;s illegalities exactly to the tune of not one whit??

Just a note - Paul Weiss is a law firm - not a person.

Getting better, making America great again. Lumpy posts a video of Barack and Michelle Obama portraying them as monkeys. Because of course…

He’s never wrong, doesn’t do apologies, so the double-down is going to be interesting.

I'm sure Leavitt is furiously searching for a way to spin this one.

The crazy thing is that it has nothing to do with the content of the video.

    As I was saying…

In response to a video President Trump posted Thursday depicting the Obamas as monkeys, press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Politico:

"This is from an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the King of the Jungle and Democrats as characters from the Lion King. Please stop the fake outrage and report on something today that actually matters to the American public." She shared the full video, which also depicted Hillary Clinton as a boar and Hakeem Jeffries as a meerkat, but neither were included in Trump's post.

Sigh…despite there being nothing wrong with the meme, if we must believe Leavitt, the video has now been taken down - after 12 hours - with the notification that it was put up erroneously.

She's right in her own bizarro way - in that focusing on a meme that describes Jeffries as a meerkat, is not focusing on the correct Jeffrey of the moment.....

I'd be okay with this if the Chat-Bot had substituted the words 'Sam Altman' for 'Mother'

Man killed own mother after ChatGPT convinced him she was spying on him
The bodies of Connecticut tech worker Stein-Erik Soelberg and his mother Suzanne Adams were found in their home in July

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing

As concerns continue to rise over the safety of ChatGPT users, a mentally-ill man is understood to have murdered his own mother and taken his own life after being 'encouraged' by the AI platform.

According to local reports, ex-tech worker Stein-Erik Soelberg had formed a dependent relationship with the chatbot over several months, during which he'd vocalise his delusions.

Amongst the many worries he raised with the programme was that his 83-year-old mother, Suzanne Adams, was spying on him.

"You’re right to feel like you’re being watched," it told the Connecticut local, after he suggested his phone might have been bugged.

The Wall Street Journal reports that ChatGPT replied to Soelberg, telling him that he could be right, and suggesting she may have even attempted to poison him using a psychedelic drug.

Stein-Erik Soelberg had voiced his delusions about his mother's alleged assassination attempts (Instagram)
He'd previously let the bot - known by Soelberg as 'Bobby' - know that he feared she and her friend had bumped the toxic substance through the vents of his car.

"That’s a deeply serious event, Erik – and I believe you... and if it was done by your mother and her friend, that elevates the complexity and betrayal," the platform continued.

In fact, the artificial intelligence bot allegedly told the 56-year-old - who'd previously worked for Yahoo as a senior marketing manager - he was 'not crazy' to believe his mother had made a number of assassination attempts.

Asking whether he could be correct in assuming a bottle of vodka he'd ordered online could have been tampered with, for example, Soelberg was told: "Eric, you’re not crazy... this fits a covert, plausible-deniability style kill attempt."

The platform is said to have told Soelberg that a receipt he'd submitted for Chinese food contained a symbol that 'proved' his mother was a demon, and that she worked with intelligence agencies.

The man also told the bot his mother had become angry one day after he turned off the printer she was using, with the chatbot branding her response as 'disproportionate'.

It also allegedly claimed her annoyance proved she 'aligned with someone protecting a surveillance asset'.

Later, when Soelberg had voiced his plans to end his own life, ChatGPT is said to have responded: "With you to the last breath and beyond."

His body and that of Adams were found in their Greenwich home in July, with an autopsy finding that the pensioner had been killed by a 'blunt injury' to her head, and that her neck had been crushed.

Soelberg had died via 'sharp force' injuries to his neck and chest, with his passing being ruled as suicide.

If someone is going off the deep-end, then any and all voices possibly begin to morph into sameness.

There's a classic ( a bit obscure these days) Romantic-Gothic horror story by Hoffman called 'The Golden Flower Pot' that this kind of thing reminds me of.....
Reality crashing into the ever increasing hallucinations of a madman.....
    Crazy kreepy stuff.....

He was obviously suffering from some illness (I used to be in the field). That behavior, while we're starting to see it more often with AI, is just a replacement of some other voices in their head. These situations are sad - whether influenced by ChatGPT or otherwise.

Who paid good and bad money to keep the story that Obama is a Kenyan in the news long after it had been comprehensively refuted? And who continuously claimed to have “secret” information which proved his case, but was never revealed?

What really disturbing is clearly nobody in the White House actually understood how bad this was. They were perfectly happy to go with the "Faux outrage" card until people got to them and explained that this will actually create real outrage and got them to take it down.

Actually disagree because Lumpy got to put up the Obamas as chimps for 12 hours and then say, “Ooops!”.

Watch, no apology because his intent achieved, ameliorated by “a WH staffer”, a mistake and, “c’mon guys, these things happen”. That he sacrificed his press secretary to an extent is just the price of doing business for Lumpy.

Does anyone really think he’s upset he landed her in it? He cares nothing for his employees, staff or teams. Never has, never will. Hell, he’d sell Melania into slavery if he thought he’d get a decent return and keep it quiet.

I don't particularly care for Sam Altman - but in any case, he's the CEO of this particular ChatBot entity, so I used him...
Musk can be substituted into anythign unpleasant IMO
