Anyone doubting that the Tw@t isn't totally batshit insane ... listen to any 5 minutes of the bilge coming out of his mouth in Davos. It's unbelievable.

He should be in a fukking straightjacket not a sloppy blue suit.

We've been looking at homes in Santa Barbara County to be closer to our kids in Santa Barbara. Towns like Solvang, Buellton, Lompoc - pretty areas without the eye-popping prices of S.B. You may know Solvang is unique in it's strong Danish heritage and re-make to look a lot like old time Odense. I've been joking that we would have to watch out for a U.S. military invasion there, but lately it's become less of a joke...

Trump to Davos: "Without us, right now you'd all be speaking German and a little Japanese perhaps. After the war, we gave Greenland back to Denmark. How stupid were we to do that? But we did it. But how ungrateful are they now?"

and he said that in Switzerland, where German is an official language.

I'm hoping that any European who saw any part of that 1hr 12minute vomit has no doubt whatsoever who and what he is.

If Biden had given that speech, there’s a very decent chance that both Hannity and Ingraham plus a few others would have straight up died, live on the tv; everyone would have understood and commiserated and there would have been a great national sad.

Having lived in Denmark, and being of Danish extraction, this whole mess with Greenland has been particularly troubling and embarrassing…. I have friends and relatives in Denmark, and we are not exactly sure how to speak about this stuff. They all know my politics and that I am completely opposed to this stuff, but there is no getting around it; all Americans are going to be held accountable for this crazy buffoonery. Probably we will deal with it in the normal Danish fashion, to simply not speak about it. If there is one thing that is typical of Danish culture, it is that they are unfailingly polite and reserved in nature. It is considered ill mannered to brag or draw attention to yourself (so imagine how they perceive Trump, and people like Musk). It is almost certain that this MP that people here have been hailing as speaking out forcefully and using profanity is getting a lot of quiet, but sustained, disapproval for being ill mannered and attention seeking back in Denmark. When the Danish PM and various high government officials are stating, simply but firmly “Greenland is not for sale” that is the Danish equivalent of getting red in the face and telling you to “Go F@@@ Yourself.”

The Danes are very proud of the resistance they put up during WW2. Being a small country with a small army, they were quickly overrun and occupied by the Nazis, and there were some collaborators - after all in Hitler’s eyes, Scandinavians were the archetypical true Germanic stock…. But there was active, sustained resistance during the entirety of WW2, and while not as famous as the French resistance, they were probably as or more effective. There is an apocryphal story in Denmark that is still widely told, where the Nazis had instituted the rule that all Jewish people would be required to wear yellow stars so they could quickly be identified by the Gestapo. The story goes that the next morning King Christian X and his family went out on the balcony of their palace, all wearing coats with yellow stars on them. While this is untrue, the story was told by word of mouth throughout the country, and what was true was that the Danes largely refused to cooperate with Nazis and identify Jewish people and other marginalized groups. As a result many were able to avoid being identified and sent to concentration camps during the occupation.

What Trump and Co. are going to find out is that while Danes are not prone to emotional outbursts, they are incredibly stubborn when it comes to what they perceive to be improper behavior. They will not give into these nonsensical demands, no matter what. They’ve already said no, and nothing Trump does short of militarily invading and actually shooting at people will change their position. That Trump and his coterie have been so rude and crude in their demands just makes it even more impossible to change their position. Given their infamous history, it is sometimes hard to reconcile modern-day Scandinavians with their ferocious history of viking conquest. But what people don’t really understand is that same tenacity and willpower that emboldened those Viking tribes to load into small, shallow-keeled sailboats to traverse the North Sea and Northern Atlantic with nothing but some basic provisions and a crude compass (magnetized steel in a piece of cork floating in an open bucket) is still there.

There he is speaking about American sacrifice, when he has never in his life sacrificed anything for anyone other than himself. How many times did he get medical deferments so he wouldn’t be drafted? What exactly was he reported by honorable military members to have said about those Americans who sacrificed in WW1 and WW2, when he was obliged to stand out in the rain to honor them? Trump has absolutely no right to use the honor and sacrifice of those patriotic Americans to try to justify his scurrilous actions… what a disgrace.

From the date of the birth of Donald Trump’s grandfather in 1869 to the birth of Tristan Miles Trump in 2011, we see zero military service. This also includes: Frederick Trump (1869-1918); Henry Trump (1899-1900); Fred Christ Trump Sr. (1905-1999); John George Trump (1907-1985); Fred Christ Trump Jr. (1938-1981); Donald J. Trump (1946 to present); Robert Trump (1948-present); John Gordon Trump (1938-2012); Fred Trump III (1962-present); Donald John Trump Jr. (1977-present); Eric Frederick Trump (1984-present); Barron William Trump (2006-present); Christopher Trump (1995-present); William Trump (1999-present); Donald John Trump III (2009-present); Tristan Milos Trump (2011-present); Spencer Frederick Trump (2012-present); John Frederick (Trump) Kushner (2013 to present); and Theodore James (Trump) Kushner (2016 to present).

This list covers 147 years of Donald Trump’s direct male ancestors and successors who have lived in America during these 147 years. To be fair, one died in infancy, one is seriously disabled and six are young children. Thus there were 10 mature Trump men who were of military service age during this time.

And during these same 147-year span the following military conflicts occurred: Spanish American War (1898); Boxer Rebellion (1899-1901); occupation of the Dominican Republic (1916-1924); World War I (1914-1918); World War II (1939-1945); Korean War (1950-1953); Vietnam War (1968-1975); invasion of Grenada (1983); invasion of Panama (1989-1991); Gulf War (1990-1991); Bosnian War (1992-1995); Kosovo War (1998-1999); Afghanistan War (2001-2014); and the Iraq War (2003-2014).

Weird innit - he invents a problem then talks smack about it for weeks on end, then the market tanks and he TACO's. Then the market rebounds. Not for the first time.

I wonder how many SEC staff got DOGE'd? Maybe some of those specializing in insider trading?

    Explain this to me?

Greenland is owned/run by Denmark and Greenland. Lumpy’s “deal” to do whatever the f.uck he says he can do (wear a crown, walk around with his dick hanging out, who knows?) is with NATO. NATO does not have any authority to discuss or make decisions about Greenland’s sovereignty.

Wouldn’t he have been just as well served as making a deal about Greenland’s sovereignty with the kid on the McDonald’s Drive Thru?

I was just reading about Greenland. Place is friggin’ huge. Huge. I had no idea.

At a guess, I’d say it covers about 99% of the Epstein files. Maybe more.

What likely they are doing is offering to transfer ownership of specific lands that we have bases on/plan to have bases on. Perhaps some exclusive rights/first refusal for specific mining projects and guarantee of relaxed environmental regulations that won’t be linked to Denmark or EU regulations.

Just enough to give Trump a “win” and not change too much substantially from the status quo. We already have full access to build bases essentially at will, but there is always the possibility that Denmark or Greenland itself revoke that agreement. I suppose it is also possible that Russia or China have been sniffing around looking for access to ports or mining operations. Svalbard has a strange, longstanding agreement called the Spitsbergen agreement that allows Russia unrestricted access to ports and commercial activities. There may be some need to ensure that Greenland doesn’t go the same route.

But all of this could probably have been done without all the drama, posturing, and discord… sigh.
