The orange buffoon says 10 words about the deceased and 200 about his idiot ballroom and that's not supposed to be satirized? What a farce of deranged logic

And absolutely no new ideas from our alleged leader. Dems scream from the rooftops that our democracy is in danger, but when asked how to counter it sound like absolutely typical politicians who have no answers except what has been unsuccessfully tried for the last 15 years. When people look at the collapse of the US Democratic system the complete and total lack of leadership by the elites in the Democratic party will be as big a culprit as the capitulation of the right.

Been saying for a while that we live in a "Schrodinger Democracy" in that we could still be in a Democracy, or the Democracy is already dead, but we can't know until we open the box/ have an election. Well not sure about everyone else but our Democracy is starting to really stink, and may already be dead. How much more 2025 can we get than the murder of a youtube content creator turning out to be our Reichstag Fire.

    It's crazy.

the FCC chairmen threatened him. I mean it's gone more than too far at this point. Every government org has been weaponized for the ********ing Trump agenda.

Kimmel didn't even say anything inflammatory! But trump didn't like it so he got the FCC chair to threaten ABC's license.

Meanwhile, FOXNEws' Kilmead, last week, said homeless people could be given an "involuntary lethal injection. Just kill them" and be suffered no punishment.

At this stage, it’s probably easier to name industries and institutions that Lumpy hadn’t gone after.

It’s also crystal clear that he absolutely cannot stand anything, anything at all, that smacks of criticism or ridicule. Easily the biggest snowflake around.

btw - Kimmels comments were completely fine. Like MOST others.

but guess who is waiting on approval of a 6.2B deal from the FCC? That right - Nexstar who wants to acquire TEGNA.

    Nothing to see here.

Speaking of those…there’s now going to be an investigation of AntiFa.

So here’s how that’s going to work: the fascists are going to investigate the anti-fascists. For being anti-fascist.

I can totally see how every part of that investigation will be completely above board.

I doubt Ionescu, Camus, Beckett or Heller would have included this sort of absurdity in their work because it would have been too ridiculous.

amongst all the craziness, with the media red alert warnings (such as they are, don't want to upset anyone on the right - right?) it seems the mentally obtuse general US voting public are oblivious to the whole ********ing shambles and the dangers they face.

The democratic leadership is in utter shambles.

But - that's because they too are frightened to death that any comment they make now will have them arrested/cancelled/shot at.

There’s a movement, not on the extremes of MAGAdom but pretty much from the center, to declare the Democratic Party some combination of a terror threat, illegal, unAmerican, a prohibited organization. I agree that since the loss in November, the Democrats have been a rudderless ship, but then again to navigate these waters would always have taken exceptional leadership. And in the past 20 years, there really have been only 2 exceptional Democrats, Obama and Pelosi.

I’m not surprised to see Obama getting back into the fray a little, but Pelosi is now in her 80s(?) and, understandably, she doesn’t have the stamina for the fight. Watch them go after Obama soon enough. What we’re left with now is people like Newsome, Shapiro, Schiff, AOC and the like. None of them a star player per se, but all solid team players. The waiting game is to see which, if any, makes the jump from 1st XI to first name on the team sheet.

Not as "big" but a Culprit of problematic degree nonetheless. First Manchin and Sinema. Then Merrick Garland. Then Pelosi to a lesser extent and Schumer to a much bigger degree - for not downing tools and pulling the govt to a screeching halt last year and the year before over any rehabilitation of the orange scumbag. If the media weren;t going to screech at stupid centrist people what exactly was behind this lying fvcker, then that should have been their job. A ship of Fvcking Fools.....

Believing that billionaires have your best interests at heart is the biggest disconnect from reality. There is a reason that these people have accrued that much money... and it isn't because they believe in a fair deal! Don't get me wrong, I don't object to success, and often the innovation that goes along with creating wealth. I do think there are more benign billionaires out there than some of the ones that are heading our government and serving as a shadow economic team behind him right now. I also don't subscribe to this idea that just because some industry leaders are jockeying to be "in the room" with Trump right now means they buy into the destructive ideology that is currently being espoused by our elected leaders. But c'mon folks... believe that insanely rich people's priorities are directly aligned with the average American citizen? No way...

    All spot on.
But discernment doesn't (or didn;t until maybe now) seem to sit all that well with the average non-fanatic voter..... and I don't even mean this kind of discernment level that you display. I mean even the garden variety kind that would have led 95% of people in former times to realize that Kamala Harris is a much better person on nearly every level of measurement (humanity, decency, democracy, non-vindictiveness and so-on) than the Orange Sleazeball Rapist.....

The thing about billionaires is that most of them have and always have had a primary interest in money, so 'nuff said there. But with Thiel and Musk it's as much about ego and a kind of mental combination of delusion, self-delusion and unnecessary defensiveness of self, I think, and then in a weird way, becomes as if money were in fact self.
Musk (the so-called avatar of free-speech) would be having apoplexy had Joe Biden moved an iota of the state power openly to surpress any third party's common-sense fed popularity.
Thiel is on record as stating that democracy has to go because its tendency to dilute will diffuse the possibilities of power and make it too weak to properly and effectively assess its own position (forgetting, oh so neatly, that the mass of centrists will never let fringe lying issues come to dominate their lives- that's specifically what extremes do - and the centre holds democracies together. Well, it does when it isn't lied to on an industrial scale for incentivized profit. Tha's down to you John Rogers whenever anyone wants to do a voodoo doll fix.....)
All the scaremongering about cultural issues (and highly deceptive economic falsifications with Joe Biden being too old to actively and loudly defend his govt's record as the #1 in the world - this not a lie) is all of it a logical dog's dinner of pig-eared codswallop, but it was useful for them to weaponize it all among the masses of the muddled to help create this mess.

This doesn’t mean classified information, it means ALL information. So, reporting that it’s an overcast day in NATO HQ means credentials revoked if reporting the weather conditions haven’t been given the green light.

There is literally no end to the interpretation of “government authorized”, and watch for that concept to come in across the board in every aspect, in every department and press conference. Arranging the firing of Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert is but a part of the full frontal attack on a free press, this is but another arm in that war. Equally, Lumpy declaring hearsay that criticism of him is outside the purview of the 1st Amendment is a serious warning shot.

This is why it is so vitally, existentially important that the press and the media companies push back and push back hard. Otherwise there won’t be a free, independent press soon.

Yep , the govt is trying to control the narrative ,from universities , from the press , from tv media ie remove contrary voices like Kimmel/Colbert and also by the intimidation of Blue states by inserting ICE and the military.

Democracy and free speech in a downward spiral.

And how is the mighty Lumpy working hard for all of us? By stopping the war between Armenia and Cambodia, apparently. They’re only 4,000+ miles apart and neither has an airforce or navy to speak of, so I’m guessing the soldiers commute.

But hey, Armenia and Cambodia are thankfully no longer at war. Well done, Lumpy.
