Weird situations - the Cybertruck explosion makes little sense.

Very sad about the New Orleans situation, however.

Anyway - I bought lots of popcorn for the next 2 years (at least)

Cybertruck blamed on migrants by "certain individuals".

Turns out bomber was US born and currently enlisted in armed forces.

Yeah, that Christian Evangelical Speaker of the house, third in line for the presidency. Will go to hell for calling Liz Cheney a pathological liar over Trumps involvement in his insurrection attempt.

Ugh no, anything but that guy… How ‘bout, “In the year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)”. Cool song, and a blast from the past for those age-challenged among us:)

Well we made it. For the first week anyway. Wait until after Jan 20. When Drumpf gets all his despots and fascists aligned.

    What fresh hell is this?

In a Mar-a-Lago news conference, President-elect Donald Trump said he would not rule out the use of military force to seize control of the Panama Canal and Greenland, as he declared U.S. control of both to be vital to American national security.

I’ve a friend, a behind closed doors Lumpy supporter from 2106*. He doesn’t give a flying f about anything Lumpy has said or done, the only thing that matters to him is that Lumpy promised not only to keep about of wars, but to remove us from any wars/skirmishes etc. that we might be in.

Can’t wait to hear to pretzel twisted logic that thinks opening military operations on two fronts simultaneously against two different sovereign nations is such a great idea.

*(He's also a United fan. Maybe I need to rethink my befriending process).

Probably but this type of talk should never be spouted by the President nor any other leader . He's massively disrespectful and along with his tag team pal Musk we're in for a rough ride.

As has been pointed out on a number of occasions by me and about 7 million other people- Donald Trump isn't fit for purpose as merely a decent human being, let alone as President of the US....

I think we’re on the cusp of very different times. Very different. Sure Lumpy, he’s a f.ucking idiot on a good day, but in many respects he’s just a product, not an architect. We’re 20-25 years in now to the information explosion that is the Interwebs where barroom questions are solved quicker than the time it takes a letter to drop into a mailbox.

There used to be a phone number, answered by human beings for the NY Public Library (NYPL) where you could ask any question they could answer. Sort of like a dialable Wikipedia. That’s how disconnected we once were from knowledge sources. You either dialed the NYPL or looked it up in a book yourself. But with this grand all the knowledge of the world at your fingertips, we now have AI. All very interesting, but we also have a reaction, an evolution to our own NYPL in our pockets. Knowledge has been weaponized.

Don’t like the facts? Argue the fact purveyors. Threaten to defund Wikipedia. Buy your own knowledge/media/interaction platform and push blatant falsehoods that serve your interests better rather than adding to the body of knowledge of mankind. Don’t like something, anything, say vaccines, push and pick, pick and push until you’ve undermined public faith in very proveable science. Do the same for anything want. Don’t like election results? Launch attacks on those who count the votes, not on the votes counted. We are in the age of no facts but mine own, no science but mine own, no knowledge but mine own. And everything is for sale. Everything.

We no longer live in an Age of Enlightenment or Discovery, we live in age of subjective reality and a universe where he with the most money, or no money but the loudest voice gets to decide what’s true, what’s relevant, what’s for the public good. There are drug addicts running Ukraine? Sure there are, that’s why our special military operation is so important. Illegal Haitian immigrants are eating the family pet cat? Same difference. We have said so, therefore it is, it’ll achieve critical mass and it’s then the truth. The only truth.

It used to be that those talking conspiracies of drug addicts, cats and vaccines were usually found on the street corners that most gave a wide berth to. Now they have enough money to move mountains, elect kings and chop up those they disagree with without consequences. Musk is trying to overthrow the UK government at the moment. Why? No one really knows, but hey! Shits and giggles.

We may be the most technologically advanced society this planet has ever seen, we can fly aircraft on other planets, but we are regressing further and further into a post-fact, my opinion is the only one that matters universe; we are very much mimicking those societies of yore where science didn’t matter, only opinions, kings, wealthy men and My God Not Yours matter. That’s the Dark Ages by many definitions. That’s what we’re becoming.

    The Dark Ages..........

The only difference,I suppose, is that the Dark Ages didn't have millions of alertly, rationally educated people who can still point out to nincompoops and stupid people when they are being either just insensibly or utterly stupid.
    I, for one, ain't stopping....
