It looks like a pretty good possibility, though I can't figure out why. No knock on Lorrie, but she's hardly one of the marquee names on the WNT, especially to the hardcore WNT supporters. Add in the fact that similar domains for the next generation players, like Wagner, Wambach, Slaton, and Reddick, are available and I'm stumped. On a similar note, I got a chuckle out of http://www.christiewelsh.com . I don't remember previously seeing a domain routed to a GeoCities account.
heather is not a "Marquee" player either and she has her own site. I think that this is just a marketing technique.
hey there! thought i would poke my head into the charge boards! anywho, i know right after wwc99, a guy (forget his name) got all the .com(s) of all the ww99 players on the roster (that weren't already taken) i know this b/c he had tisha's name, and he contacted me (when i had my tisha site at geocities) saying his "lease" was gonna expire, and wanted a 'real fan' to take the domain and use it. instead, i contacted tisha and asked if she wanted the domain for herself (if she was planning on doing a site etc.,), and she said she wasn't, and that i could use it if i wished. i decided not to use .com, and instead took tishaventurini.net b/c that would have left the .com addy "open" if she ever decided to use it. i think the same applies to all the other names. i think most of them have already expired, and nothing was done with the site, but who knows? the guy who had all the names worked for a sports comany who were planning on doing a massive collective site about the players, with some player involvement, but i'm not sure what hapened to the company (think like AthleteDirect or something).... i know i just rambled there, but hopefully that helped a bit?? lol elaine
