    5/24 Philly v San Jose during [R]

Apparently Clemens is not in the doghouse. Whether she ever was I know not, but interestingly enough she's replaced last year's league-leading scorer Katia in today's starting lineup.

Sissi is starting and Tisha is not.

I wonder what our formation is...I tend not to trust the order in which the players are listed on matchtracker.

Ahh...And as I type we go up one in the 40th with a goal by Pretinha. Assisted by Brandi and Katie Barnes.

Sweet. I'd love to see Clemens start to prove her worth for us today. I have no dual loyalties: Let's break out on offense and pound Solo. ;)

    CyberRays-Charge in-game [R]

Tim, feel free to make this a post-game thread also, if you'd like.

Just hopped on to see what's going on. It's half time and we are up 1-0, goal by Pretinha that was assisted by Barnes and Chastain. She scored in the 40th minute.
Sissi started this match, no Katia and no Tish. Does anyone know if Katia was injured earlier in the week? Looks like Barnes is in the midfield. Clemens is starting up top. WHAT IS GOING ON? Is Tish injured, thus Barnes starting in the midfield? I could understand Sissi starting over Tish if it were a matter of those 2 fighting for one spot, but Barnes is listed in a midfield position.
No Alagich or Lindsey, as expected.

We have 5 shots, Philly has 7. 2 shots on goal for each team. Barr has been a force offensively with 2 shots, tying her for the lead with Pretinha.
    5 fouls for each squad.
No cautions have been handed out.
    Beene has 2 saves to Solo's 1.

Sissi is listed nowhere in the stats, and nowhere on MatchTracker, but we all know she could have had a great impact on the game without making the summary.

I just called my friend Allyson who made the trip up from DC to 'Nova....she said Ann Cook is sitting on the bench.
    :mad::mad:

Mr. Foudy better play her or I'm gonna give him an Idaho trailerpark BEATDOWN next time I'm in town!

First sub is Katia for Barnes at the beginning of the second half.

No mention of Cook, but with the way the line-up is right now, you never know.

Oops. I took to long getting my first post ready.

Tim might jump on at some point and merge them or delete one.

    Sorry!

UW, I see you said you had no loyalties towards Solo, way to go!! Let's show her what's up. :)

MatchTracker has tended to be a bit shaky in the past as far as line-ups go (we all learned that early on). But I do think Clemens is up top. Pretinha has probably dropped down to the midfield (or she has been there this whole time) when Katia was subbed in.

6 minutes into the second half and there is lots of fouling going on.

We have the ability to delete our own posts.

Looks like this one has been built upon, even if only one reply has been about the progress of the game.

We used to not be able to delete a post if it was the start of a new thread. Good to hear that rule has changed!!

SOG by Sissi, let's hope she finds a rhythm.

A lot of Beat and Charge fans thought that Emily Burt would start with Pichon up top tonight. I would not be surprised to see her brought in later. Philly is going with most of their usual suspects, with respect to injuries. No subs for them @ half. The field was supposed to be a wet mess. Listed at being 59 degrees up there.

It's not that I don't wish her well as a pro, but between her and the 'Rays, it's no question.

    Destroy her. :D

How about the defense? How do you think our back 4 are arranged?

Die-hard Rays fans, nothing better. Whenever we go up against former Gators, I wish for total domination, but obviously no injuries.

I think it's Bryan and Cromwell in the middle (maybe Bryan is towards the left, Cromwell the right...really don't know) with Brandi and Sanchez on the flanks. Don't really picture Sanchez kicking butt on the flanks, but we do have help in the midfield. Chastain is probably on the left.
    What do you think??

YES!!!!! Go Rays!!!! Keep it up!

This is Sissi's first assist all season? I am shocked!! (Can't think of the shocked smiley!)

Clemens was in on there, too. Good for her!

Absolutely nothing posted from 53:03 to 60:27. Must have been a quiet 7 minutes!

Clemens had a SOG 2 seconds before Pretinha scored, guess she picked up the rebound and knocked it home. Way to be there!

You are absolutely right. I knew I knew better! She did assist that goal with a beautiful kick, and it was the first match in Atlanta.

We have 1 offsides (Clemens) to Philly's 4. Pretinha has really improved on those this year so much. It's almost like night and day.

67:56 PHI -68th Minute. Substitution: 3-Emily Burt for 2-Lorrie Fair, 68 minutes played.

Here comes EBurt. I hope our defense isn't tired, cause this girl can run.

67:56 PHI -68th Minute. Substitution: 21-Trina Maso de Moya for 16-Melanie Hoffmann, 68 minutes played.

Call me uninformed, but I have not heard anything on Trina.
Hoffman had a good 68 minutes it seems.
    C'mon on defense!

I haven't seen the 'Rays play since...I think it was when Carolina kicked our ass last year.

From what I hear, though, Cromwell is a central defender.

Brandi obviously can play central d, but she loves pushing up. So if we have other options at central d, I imagine that she'd be on the flanks.

Where does Sanchez usually play? Hasn't she spent some time in the midfield for us?

    Where is everyone?

My MatchTracker is good for about 5 minutes, then it stops and I have to close it and open it up again. It didn't used to do this. As long as we are winning, I can't complain!

Cromwell has been playing the center. She's been doing well at getting back and defending the goal itself.

I believe Chastain has been hanging out on the left side lately, giving her more of a chance to push up, as opposed to playing in the center. She's been running up the flanks a lot.

Sanchez has been up a bit more for us lately, that's why I'm confused on where she is. But I think she was on a flank during the first game with ATL, and if I recall correctly, she was on the right. Then again, I could be imagining all of this. I wouldn't stick her on a flank, but I can't imagine Bryan or Cromwell on one.

    Where's Tisha? :(

I wonder if she even traveled with the team.

Anyone know how many are on travel squads this year? I'm thinking 14 because active rosters were cut to 16.

Hi. I just jumped on for a minute and have to leave. But I'll quickly answer some of your questions. Keri Sanchez was kicking butt at right back until Di came back into the line-up. Then Keri moved to right midfield so Di could play right back. Di's return also moved Brandi from central defense to left back, and Frenchie up to right midfield. Amanda Cromwell's been organizing the defense from Brandi's original spot. Frenchie's been fantastic in midfield, Keri less so. Keri's got real jets and is terrific pushing forward from the back line.

End of period. We won, and Keysia got the clean slate. Excellent!

I think they pretty much have to let at least 16 players travel. If they only let 14 travel, that would be a huge advantage for the home team. One sub would always have to be a goalkeeper, so that would leave teams with only two field subs.

My wild guess for the formation, which is probably not worth much, is that they stuck with the diamond 4-4-2. They probably started with: Beene; Sanchez, Bryan, Cromwell, Chastain; Barnes, Barr (d-mid), Sissi (o-mid), French; Clemens, Pretinha. When Katia came in for Barnes, clearly she would not have played right mid, so perhaps Clemens shifted to midfield.

That would be my guess also. And 16 do travel.
