During today's game against Sunderland, Ray Parlour and Oleg Luzhny both picked up injuries. Parlour is likely (hopefully) to make it for Saturday, but there is a considerable doubt about OL22. Whatever people think of him, and personally speaking, I am in the positive, he is a defender, and currently we are struggling in that department. Without him being fit, only adds to the worry and concern, not only of AW but the rest of us!
It is now looking like JEFFERS is going to be added to the list. If it keeps on, I'll think I'll take my boots with me on Saturday!! (LOL) (Who knows, maybe "yours truly" might score the winner!!) (I do in bed each n ight!) (LOL).
On a slilghtly brighter side, EDU now states that his chances of being fit are reasonable and that he will make himself available for part of the game should AW need him. I think we are going to need all that we can muster, including the "walking wounded".
Looks like we are gunna need a gutty effort in cardiff... lookin for Henry to continue his excellent form and getting all the lads involved (a la vieira) what a leadership role he has provided following our flop in the league~ jeff, can you play centre-half? lol... cheers mate phishy
Despite the injuries I still feel very confident about this game. I think Wenger will approach this game differently. As you'll recall, we put out an "odd" side against both ManU and Chelsea in the FA Cup and came out winners. Look for FA Cup King Wiltord to grab one.
That's the position that I would be less likely to choose! However, I would probably give Pascal and Igor a run for their money!! (LOL).
I can't see him doing this in the final. As it's the last game of the season, there is no need for him to rest anyone. And he did it last year when players such as Richard Wright who had played in every round up to and including the semi-final were dropped for the Cardiff match.
I'm not suggesting Wenger will put out an odd side by choice, merely noting that when we've played an odd side, by choice or necessity, in the past we've still managed to get the result.
It has just been announced that DS1 will captain the side at Wembley, fuelling speculation that this will be his last game as regular No.1 between the posts. Luznhy will probably partner Keown in the centre, and a late fitness test on Lauren will decide his availability. My suggested team is as follows: SEAMAN LAUREN LUZNHY KEOWN COLE PIRES LJUNBERG GILBERTO PARLOUR WILTORD HENRY Subs: Kanu, Bergkamp, Taylor, Edu, Stepanovs.
My nerves have just begun to set in. Let's get out there and give it everything. Rein mais le Quad! OPArsenal
Looks like Keown is a doubt, so Stepanovs maybe stepping up? Either way I would add Toure to the bench.
