    Desailly retiring

Well now, it would seem that a replacement for Desailly may come sooner than thought.
January may indeed see another player coming in despite what Ranieri has said.

The fact that he has said this at all makes me think we will see little or nothing of him from now on.

He'll still get a couple of matches here and there. Couldn't agree more that he should retire in the summer...... a smart move as I felt that the injuries are catching up with his age.

Another 'Gallas-type' defender would be welcomed.... don't think it'll be in January though.

Desailly has had a sensational career and I feel he can end of his contract to the end of 2005. But his injuries are a concern and his body may be getting a bit older for the pace of the game. The question I want to raise is who will take over as captain of Chelski. I would love to see Lampard become skipper after such a fabulous season for us? What are your views on who should become the next captain.

    Go the Blues!

It might go to Terry ..... he'd be a fitting character.
