I heard a similar rumor, but nothing first hand. any thoughts of who it could be. If it was only Galindo.....
Galindo is out of market I don't thing the Chivas let him go, Is only 3 others striker out there right now (Osvaldo Alonso and Rey Angel Martínez are midfilders), Yaikel Perez, the less important he have been player for Miami (USL-1) and Laredo (PDL), Alberto Delgado his actually with the Islanders and Lester More, looking for a job, If Charleston got him them did a great move, he is a man of area, he lethal there, actually have the cuban scored record for a season with 32. Now just wait and see if the roumor is true, may be some one can confirm the news
Yeah I imagine Chivas have Galindo wrapped up pretty tight. I hope it is Lester More. I have heard good things about him. Wasnt he one that defected in 2007 during the Gold Cup? We had a player trial in Jan and one last weekend. I didnt make it but I would be interested to see if his name was on the list of trialist. UPDATE: looks like Lester more had a trial with RSL but was released during the first week. some time aroud the first of Feb. mikey mikey
A little birdy told me the cuban has scored 32 goals for the national team but he could remember his name, sounds like Lester More to me. Mikey
certanlly should be him, now we have to way for the confirmation of the team, if you know any thing let me know
Do you have any news? I live 40 min away from Charleston, if the team have him I will going to watch some of the games at home
I also heard it is complete but the Battery need to wait on the league to approve the paperwork before they announce it.
You should go watch the Battery even if they don't have that Cuban player. They're games are a lot of fun and they play in a great stadium.
If you live in Beaufort, that's "More" like an hour and 40 minutes to the stadium, but either way it's worth it. Lester needs to get fit, from what I've been told.
Excellent. I tell you the Battery made a great deal!!. Mister Obvious if you can reach him in the training, can you ask him from what part of Ciego de Avila he is?
The players are very accessible at the games, if you make it up, Im sure you can ask him in person. mike
Osvaldo Alonso was with the Battery yesterday during its scrimage against the College of Charleston. He looked pretty good and it sounds like he impressed the staff, I wouldnt b surprised if he was offered a contract. Lester picked up a minor knock during training and didnt play, but I was told it was nothing serious.
Also heard some of the new Cuban defectors contacted the Battery Cubans yesterday. Might we see some more in Chucktown? Anyone know what the rules are for getting a player pass from US Soccer for a player who defects from his country? I'm pretty sure that normally, US Soccer has to get an international clearance from the player's home country soccer federation that he is not currently under contract with any other pro team. I'm guessing the U-23 players probably had existing contracts with Cuban clubs?
