Wasn't able to see Nacional-Medellin in "El Clasico de las Montanas" because my dad thought it wasn't safe to go to the stadium. Thought the "Barras Bravas" would get the better of us. My cousin's husband was also not "interested" because of the violence that has plagued South American soccer in recent years. The funny thing is that had I known that my cousin WAS willing to go & that a trip to a town just outside of Bogota, to visit an uncle, was cancelled because that uncle was coming to Bogota anyway, I would've gone to the Nacional-Medellin game with my cousin. It probably turned out for the best, though since I already had a plane ticket, back to Bogota, for the day of the game. Not to mention that my cousin is a gorgeous, vivacious 28 year old young woman & protecting her against "rabid" soccer fans would not have been fun or healthy.
