With almost 60 pages and the 2010 season in the books, its time to start a new thread for all the transfer talk. Anybody know when the actual transfer window opens?

Guangzhou is quickly looking like they are going to be the big spenders this offseason as they try to fulfill their goal of a league title within 5 years. Wonder if Shaanxi will continue the buying spree they started last year. As a Guoan fan, I'm pleased that Yang Zhi has come out and said he wants to stay with Guoan and that they were able to sign Matic for next season.

for the hype that Robert Pires will be signing for a CSL team
this news would almost be dismissed as soccernet.com announced he is close to sign for Aston Villa.

in fact he is close to sign every where but that guy don´t have the potential to play 90 minutes in the EPL maybe 45 to 60 mn max, he didn´t play for more than one year and only do TV broadcast i will prefer to see him play in china or thailand will be good for him than be on the bench in EPL but that my PTW, that guy don´t have nothing to do in EPL he already win all, world cup, Euro, EPL champion etc...

And he could show that the past french players who came to china was just deep shit and only Ouedec was a real player, Sabin, Murcy, Olivier Fauconnier and caillet was just pathetic players

    feng renliang
one of the brighter talents within the dark side of chinese football
is reported to be attracting some euro teams

however, the shanghai shenhua coach is adamant feng renliang will renew his contract
the coach also said feng needs to develop more before going oversea.

I'd tend to agree with this, give him another year or two in the CSL and he'd go to Europe a far more mature, rounded player. Plus, he'd attract more prestigious clubs.

this is no surprise, Guoan told him they weren't going to resign him, Yan Xiangchuang even wore a tribute tshirt under his jersey for Ryan on the last day of the season. Guoan also dumped Maurice Ross. They Have Griffiths brother Joel, Walter Martinez, and now Matic signed for next season, though, so its an almost sure thing they'll be targeting some big foreign central defender for one of their two remaining foreign player spots.

Former Seongnam coach Kim Hak Beom, who was one of Guoan's top targets, turned down Beijing and instead decided to coach Henan next year. Wonder if Lee shared a bad word or two about his former club with his countryman...

    good luck to pires
i hope he would become a good engine that is much needed for villa (after barry and milner left), despite pires, as you said, could only last 60 minutes or so.

    finally some news:

    - reports say defender Wang Qiang has been acquired by Shandong Luneng

    - Guangzhou Evergrande is now becoming unpopular in the CSL because of their vast spending (and inflating the price of players), similar to Manchester City in English Premier League

    - Guangzhou Evergrande is rumoured with Zhang Yaokun, Jiang Ning, Zheng Long, Liu Jian, and Feng Xiaoting (lol )

More rumors, appears Yang Hao and Guoan have no hopes of working out a deal and his most likely destinations are Guangzhou or Shaanxi. The transfer window officially opens up on December 30 and lasts until March 21. I'm guessing that teams are trying to put deals into place ASAP, it will be interesting to see how soon things heat up, with the Asian Cup taking up the big name players time and then, shortly after that, Spring Festival.

not only are they targeting him, it appears they've reached an agreement with him, though they've supposedly reached agreements with coaches before who've left.

Nelo Vingada won the double in Korea this year and has been a pretty successful manager over his career, getting him would be great.

latest news suggests Guo'an don't want to dish out the $$ (around $1mil/yr) so they are looking else where. http://sports.sina.com.cn/j/2010-12-09/03225357010.shtml

this is getting to be a farce...the coaches they want, they won't pay, the coaches who are willing to take the job, they don't want...It's hard enough when adding a foreign coach, but if you don't at least give him time to come in and figure out what he has, how the hell can the team succeed in the transfer market? Plus a lot of the players are waiting to see what happens with the coach before they decide to stay or go, they better find someone soon...

Also, Feng Xiaoting is coming back to CSL with Guangzhou Evergrande. They paid $1.5m for Feng from Jeonbuk.
